Depends on if you beleive the rumours on Gibson and him being keen on a Guiness or 12.
I'd also question his injury proneness. We need a captain that rarely misses a game.

Hardly any. But if I did I wouldn't spend the time watching how much he talked.

The fact that he's captain when Neville isn't playing, most times, pretty much says all I need to know.

Yeeah, that's why I said for the near future. Possibly next season or some way into it. As for the booze, I don't know where he lies on a scale of 1 to Andy van der Meyde, but I was more basing it on his performances and the fact he's an important player for giving our midfield structure and he seems to be quite commanding in that role. Although I admit his form has dipped the past 2 games.
