Think we can all agree we don't want to see Neville in a starting lineup ever again. I hate the idea of "club captain" that gets banded around for experienced players that have lost all ability so if you could take that armband off him and give it to someone else permanently who would it be?

Osman took it the other day and I think it brings the best out of him. I'd love him to take it on full time. He's clearly loved and respected by his teammates and has the experience and passion for the club.

Good options yes, but I have to say Osman also does a good job of it.

Unfortunately the stats don't support Jags.
Maybe its unfair, but our results with Jags as captain are relatively poor (and this is with the advantage of not having Neville on the pitch) and there have been enough games now with him having the armband for it to be statistically relevant.
Suggests to me that either ( a ) it distracts Jags and prevents him from playing at his maximum, or ( b ) he doesn't pick the team up as well as Neville to perform at a greater than the sum of our parts.
Jags makes a suitable VC, as does Ossie, or Hibbo, or any of the other stalwarts, but I really would also like it to be Gibbo getting the armband in good time.

I think Gibbo and Osman are good shouts but I think Baines would be a brilliant club captain. He's our best and most consistent player. He leads by example on the pitch through his play and attitude. Granted I get the feeling he wouldn't want to be captain.
