Can anyone explain this Everton phenomenon?

With the size of the first team squad and money at our disposal I do not think 7th is mediocre. All the teams above us have significant more resources than us and I stick with the point that given the same hand there are very few managers if any in the league that would do better.

If you argue that we should have more resources then that is different

Agreed.

Seventh would be excellent when you consider the ups and downs we have had...and there are huge amounts of money invested in all those clubs above us. The people's club is the pauper's club but in that league we are indeed the champions.

I'm not denying that finishing 7th will not be a decent finishing point considering where we at a couple of months ago, but when you look at how the premiership has panned out this season it's hard to deny that we should have achieved more, regardless of financial constraints.

Quite a lot of you placing the blame firmly at Moyes door. Well I think without him we could be in the bottom six. I do not buy the 'Moyes is the Problem' reasoning at all.

Be careful what you wish for.

You scream and shout that the Board doesn't back the manager, that the manager is tactically naive, that our best players aren't good enough.

Look at Villa, Blackburn, Brum, West Ham, Portsmouth, if you think radical change is the answer.

Moyes is one of the best managers in the league, the board may be crap, but they haven't sold us to some clueless numpties. We are so bad that with less than no moey we sit 7th. I know it is not NSNO but as I said be careful what you wish for.

IMWT.....COYB

Agree with this, I'm not saying that Moyes does not have his faults but I beleive that without him we would constantly be in the bottom 5 or worse relegated.

It surprises me that so many fans on here seem to want him out.

Kind of offtopic, but - just a reminder to people jumping on Billy: he gets the job done. Scores goals, is effective (even if we want him to be a dynamo and have inhuman pace and unending stamina) and makes assists, or at least gives the inch perfect cross, which someone - last few games Osman - flops at. In the Villa game Ossie should've scored 5, and 4 would've been Billy assists. FACT.

Proceed.

I still don't like him really he just does not seem up for it.His passing was terrible against blackburn and to me he is one of those players that hides during games and does the odd bit of magic to warrent him being out there.

This thread should be titled the "Come Bleach Yourself Silly".

What's it going to be from all the backseat managers? Moyes love or angst?

Me two quick cents: Whoever in here said that Moyes was the best $-$ manager in the Premier League (think you RFUS) and that without Moyes, Everton would be a bottom 5 club fighting relegation year in and year out - you are absolutely correct. Well done.

Maybe Moyes should have gone to the bench earlier when Arteta was utterly gash? Probably but who amongst us, prior to the last month, would have preferred Osman over Arteta. Not a one. But, given the last month, do you want Arteta back in the side when he's fit if it means disrupting Everton's good form of late? I don't. I'd rather see Moyes head down to Old Trafford with the same lineup he's been using for the last month. It's working - don't feck with it.

I also love that Moyes has figured out who the core of the side is and done everything possible to lock them all up long term. He's working on Fellaini and so happy to hear that MoFro wants to stay. Long term contracts means two things - consistency and hopefully a higher transfer fee if sales need to occur. Moyes is a genius of finding talent in lower leagues and odd places (i.e., Coleman, Gueye, Jags, Baines, Lescott) and turning them into solid players. That well will run out of water eventually but he's got a knack.

So, just be thankful that Ebepton aren't facing relegation which was a distinct scenario not long ago. Be thankful that Ebepton are making a good run here and it's fun to watch. Just don't set the bar so high for next season, eh? Best to be pleasantly surprised than generally disappointed. Have a quaff of bleach, put your feet up and see what young Gueye can do at Old Trafford this weekend. Bet he gets one.

I think I would rather stick with those who have been playing well...however we now face Man Utd, Chelsea and Citah - much tougher than Wolves and Blackburn

Basically I've given up predicting our scores.

Hibbo has let me down week in and week out by not scoring an overhead 25 yarder causing a mass riot, (as predicted in most match threads)

*shakes head.

There's 15 points available. How many are we gonna get??

I'm hoping at least 9 or 10. Why not eh? Lol

At the end of last season I think we had only lost two out of 20 odd....amazing. Manure are going for the title, we could frustrate them on Saturday then Hibbo scores, and the nation riots, to give us a win... I reckon seven more points max. There will come a point where the players will think "beach" and not getting injured before their hols. Seriously, Hibbo must score...if we get a decent lead somewhere and a late penalty.....it has got to happen.
