Camp America and BUNAC

In the summer of 2001 I spent 3 months working on a American Kids summer camp, in New Milton Pensylvania.

It was the best sumemr of my life. Met the most amazing people, had the funniest experiences ever, and really made the most of my time there.

Has anyone else on here done similar? I want to hear your funny stories if you did.

And for those young 'uns (BML I mean you here), I would highly reccomend this for you at one point during your uni life. You won't regret it I promise.

Oh and a tip, go with BUNAC rather than Camp America. More pay, and they pay for your flights. (Well used to!).

He did tell me I've forgot, it wasn't Pennsylvania though.

He'll love it for sure.

Man, i'm reminising now. So many funny stories. Most involving smoking things I shouldn't have, and a few involving big b*stard bears, and one involving both.

A load travelled to OZ with Bunac, think it was just kind of a scheme so that they didn't have to travel there alone really, I found most of them to be stuck up kids with insecurities and apron strings that were 12,000 miles long.

There was only 1 I remember as being 'normal' she was travelling that way because her brother went missing in Ibiza years ago, so she did it for her parents peace of mind really. She spent most of her time out of her mind truth be known, we set the fire alarm off one night with bongs and when Sydneys Finest came running in wearing their breathing apparatus she was just finishing a cone, looked up and said "you'd be better with one of these mate."

last I heard she was selling pies in Dundee's Ground.

At the moment I've got three mates in Chicago and one in New York footy coaching. I missed the cut by being a month too young. FFS KEV!

I've spent the past two July's working at a summer camp for students studying English.

It's mainly Europeans but we had a group of lads from Qatar last year, they were so rich and bought so much stuff they couldn't take it all back with them so they left bags of clothes for the other students. I managed to get a pair of Toms but some of the Spanish students got United shirts, football boots and miscellaneous A&F clobber.
