thank you Blueboy, but it can be hard keeping up with inclusion of blerts, meffs, lids, bad belters, good belters, stale belters and zone capones.

.

Speaking of "scouse", can someone give the new guy some cliff-notes? Is this a noun, verb, and the slang is somewhat derogatory from what I can infer?

Get your own house in order lad you bad cheeky get x

Pretty much think of a weird word, and give it a random meaning.

So pretty much you can read into these words as you see fit. Me, all I see is a lot of compliments going back and forth :P

Nothing wrong with Scouse slang or whatever, it's just a little incomprehensible at times for non natives.

But, all said, good to see a good number of stars and stripes present, nothing to do with the damn world cup draw, they were here before in any case.

lid is like a greeting. Alright lid/alright mate. The rest are insults. Hope this clarifies things

1. from massachusetts

2. discovered GOT through toffeeweb

3. was never really exposed to the game until 98 when I just happened to catch micheal owen score the goal against argentina, for whatever reason he resonated with me and I started following the game. It was liverpool that introduced me to everton and despite my favorite player being a red I just took to everton, always been a sucker for the underdog I guess. It was when moyes was hired and their performance after loosing rooney that cemented them for me. couldn't imagine supporting another club.

I love it !!!

be thankful that you missed the Mike Walker debacle, got off to an encouraging start with six against Swindon, Cottee hat-trick, but defeat to Bolton in the FA cup, I think they were lower league at the time, a horrendous run up to Wimbledon, and within a Hans Segers 'error' from relegation, they were some bad times.

98 wasn't much better, almost went down again, but a draw was enough that day, on the pitch at the end as the rain came down, what a feeling that was.
