Confidence can easily spill over into arrogance. When commentators say all the best players have a bit of arrogance about them, what they're really saying is they are supremely confident because a player who is too arrogant too often will underperform. We see this in the worst aspects of Cristiano Ronaldo's play where he clearly becomes wrapped up in being the man, being number one and living up to his reputation and as a consequence actually plays poorly. A better example of someone who is very confident and has just the right amount of arrogance to assert himself in a game is Tim Cahill. He comes across as a winner but as one who knows confidence must be matched with hard work, focus and maximum effort.

Basically, he's an Aussie.

the only problem i have with cahill playing deep is our attacking options hes so good in the attacking positions but if it helps the team and we can keep saha fit well ill be happy to watch him play deep

hes a very important member of our team

Once again he delivers the goods and shaved us blushes. The man's a legend. Hopefully 'King' Louis Saha can stay fit from now on, as our midfield second half looked a lot more balanced with Cahill in his new role.
