Goat

Player Valuation: £380m
PREMIER LEAGUE RESULT
Portsmouth 2-0 Man City

Hughes will get the bullet pretty soon.

And lots of draws today in the FA Cup

FA CUP RESULTS
Blackburn 2-2 Coventry
Sheff Utd 1-1 Hull
Swansea 1-1 Fulham
West Ham 1-1 Middlesbrough

Nah, Hughes will stay until the end of the season.

Why?

For the same reason he is still in a job. They have someone lined up to take over in the summer... possibly a high profile manager who doesn't want to leave his club in the lurch, or the prospect of winning the champions league this year.

Surprised he's lasted this long. My guess is that he's being left there to steer them to safety and then he'll go.

They have Scolari lined up,. Thats why he has stated he is not going to give up his house in London yet. He has stated he wants another prem job. All makes too much sense to me.

Someone on a radio show made an excellent point that Hughes has had success in the prem mainly becasue they were kicking people in the shins. How are you going to get guys like Robinho to do that?

Ironically the team that would fit Hughes perfectly is Portsmouth. Man City isn't safe yet, there are no really bad teams in the prem this year. I'm still thinking that 38-40pts could send you down this year.
