But what about the net spend?

So we've sold Lukaku and had the audacity to spend the money...
'''Tis a strange old world. We were ripped to shreds for not spending the Arteta money...

The only 3 positions we have not upgraded on with the players who have either left or been injured in those positions are CB, RB and of course CF.

RB - Hardly surprising, we are not going to go out and blow a load of dough on a player who will not get a game when Seamus is back.
CB - Injury to Mori threw things off track IMO but it looks like we will sign a replacement for him before the end of the window.
CF - We need another striker as currently we only have Sandro and Rooney who looks better playing off the striker.

Summer transfer spend so far:

£98M

Summer sales so far:

£108M

Martinez left us with a squad that we've needed to spend £200m fixing
Which has/will be financed by players sold, that Martinez bought. Martinez even gave Stones his debut if I recall.

Lukaku and Stones. There's a 140 million right off the bat.

McCarthy will be next and that'll be 160.

Still need LCB, LB, ST. Maybe a left footed winger as well. Shift McCarthy, Barkley, Lennon, Robles, Niasse and Garbutt. Them 6 could bring in about £55 million. I'm not bothered if we have positive or negative net spent as long as when the window closes we are strong enough to go on 4 fronts.
