I was thinking the same, that brutal challenge could've caused Coleman concussion.

Thing is the ref stopped it right away and called the doctor/physio on, so he seen how bad it was

That was a very professional performance today. We got 5 goals but it wasn't like a free flowing performance. We didn't lose shape at the back when we lost possession, the 3 CB's dominated the high/long ball mostly. Digne and Coleman got adequately covered when they ventured forward. The Centre Midfield was also covered with playing 3 CB's. Away from home I think this is a tactic we should work on and keep the 3 CB's until we have a stronger CM. The home team will have problems breaking us down and we would be more than capable on the counter. Would also introduce it for home games against the bigger teams so we don't get dismantled like against Spurs. Sort of like an Allardyce stability (if there ever was) but with shots on goal and more than 2 passes strung together.

Mina, Keane and Zouma were dominant and we seen some old fashioned clearances mixed with some good passing out from the back. It was a when needs must display. As much as Spurs hurt sometimes results like that teach a harsh lesson and galvanize the team as they do not want to be on the end of another similar result. Excellent reaction to the spurs thumping

As a few have said, the most pleasing thing is how clinical we were, that's been our problem this season. We've only really deserved to lose the spurs and West ham games this season.

The other losses are all games where we've created a hatful of chances and missed them all, plus bad luck/officiating helping the top 6 team we've lost to.

I said in my post earlier that it shows what happens when we have a decent ref. He made a couple of mis-judgements but wasn't anywhere near as bad as the likes of Moss and Pawson.

Spurs are a brilliant side. Have put five past everyone's flavour of the month Bournemouth today.

We cocked up on Sunday, were far too open. But that's not because we're a bad side. We just tried to go toe-to-toe with a brilliant team - which is the way forward - and got punished for mistakes and, ultimately, a lack of personnel (no Gana to protect the back four).

We have been good in the big games this season when it has come to creating chances. What we haven't done is take them. Today we did. As I said earlier, we could easily, easily, have had three goals at both the Etihad and Anfield. We missed sitters. Things could have been very different.

Good win today, and a good reaction. Now onto Brighton, which will be a much tougher game, but winnable.

We are where we are. Our last four away games before today had been at Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge, Anfield and the Etihad. Our performances at two of those grounds were better than the results we got. Our slip ups have come against Newcastle and Watford. Hopefully today is a sign that we've put those mistakes behind us.

'Clinical' = proper mental and physical application etc. ??
Makes me wonder why...even if it is 'only' Burnley...it takes all and sundry on and of the field a proper humiliation and resultant arse kicking to turn in a respectable job of work.

I’m just glad our side is competing. We will rely a bit on luck to beat top sides atm, but it’s like you said- we are creating plenty of chances.
