Is this a subtle way of getting the guy to leave?I would like to spoon him on a cold winter's night.
Galloway is a natural CB though?Let him move on and get regular football. Like others have said, unless we plan on moving on Baines, we've got Garbutt coming back and Galloway who can play there if need be.
The good thing as well is that Baines is the sort to react to the challenge the correct way, rather than throwing his toys out the pram he'll get his head down and work hard to regain his place. And with both of them, plus Galloway, pushing each other on it will be of benefit to all.If ever a footballer deserves some luck and a run of games it is Oviedo. The way he handled the terrible injury was admirable. He seems such a humble guy and he comes across as a player who appreciates playing football for a living and wants to be the best he can and make the most of every minute on the pitch. One thing is for sure, if he can stay injury free till the end of the season, Bryan will be stronger and the team will be stronger on the pitch as well.
Forgot about Galloway to be honest. But I know it's a big if, but if Oviedo and baines can stay fit, they'll cover left back and leave Galloway to compete for a centre half spot next season. I think we have been pleasantly surprised by Galloway at full back, considering the club see him as a future centre half. Come next season I think we'll see Galloway gradually introduced as centre half, as stones was earlier in his Everton career, as I can't see john stones being here next season. The good thing as well is that Baines is the sort to react to the challenge the correct way, rather than throwing his toys out the pram he'll get his head down and work hard to regain his place. Anyone know what the crack is with Oviedo's contract? I read somewhere that he's only got a few months left, I'd be sorry if we let him go he's a good player to have in an ambitious team, reminds me a bit of Alan Harper in a funny sort of way.
Far as I know mate there is an option to extend it for a year.
Class little player but with his injury record a year extension seems the smart thing to do. Can always renew it next season then.
He's been superb lately.
In RMs first season when he came in for that month i thought he performed better than Baines, and obviously Baines is the superior player, but Oviedo has pushed him hard over the last few seasons IMO

Martínez revealed Barkley is not the only player lined up for a new contract at Everton, with the club having an option to extend Bryan Oviedo’s deal and Muhamed Besic due a pay rise after making over 25 Premier League appearances. “We look at every player’s situation,” he explained.
“We’ve got Bryan Oviedo who is out of contract in the summer but we have an option and we would like to do something before then. Mo Besic has triggered a clause which means we need to look into his contract. Those are the ones that are most imminent and everyone else we will look into in the summer.”
