Bryan Oviedo

Three bang on performances in a row, first choice left back for me.
He is the best LB at the club.

It seems for some if you say that it's an act of sacrilege against St Baines. For me though it's pure nostalgic reaction to pencil Baines in as a starter. He's not defending well, his forays forward are stunted and leave us bent out of shape in a counter situation, and his set pieces have deserted him.

Oviedo is a more steady eddie type and has it over Baines in spades atm.

Baines needs to stay on the bench and wait his turn.

Baines is by a margin the better overall player mate, exactly how many mistakes has Baines made this season thats cost us goals btw? or how often ahs his man been the one whose been left free? honestly can't think of a single time so far

On paper yes but Brys performed better over the last few games so would like to think the position is his til drop in form

Doesn't have a presence back there mate. Wont tackle. Get's caught upfield. Doesn't close down crosses or shots.

I wouldn't say he's living off former glories just yet but he's a shadow of the Baines of a few seasons ago. There's absolutely no question of that. Some are letting past efforts he's put in blind them to the fact that a defender with less talent is doing a proper shift and it's working for us.

Best to agree to disagree on this one mate as both stuck in our opinions

On Baines best day yes he is the better player by a margin but when was Baines back to his best? Of course he's coming back from injury and needs time but I'd rather give the spot on merit rather than history and right now Oviedo deserves it.

Seem to be in the minority but I rate him. Don't think he's miles behind Baines.

Don't think your in the minority mate as everyone loves a bit of Oviedo.

Tough for Baines, basically missed a years worth of togger so it ain't gonna come back overnight and fortunately for Oviedo he's b managed to get some fitness at the right time.

I've always liked Oviedo, I think he brings a lot of qualities. Baines on his day though is another monster.

Competition for places, good to see ;)

Fair enough point mate, it's why I'm not exactly getting bent out of shape about Oviedo starting
