Bryan Oviedo

I do actually agree with @Mikey_Fitzgerald here. (Just effing depise that website!)

He's a centre back. If Oviedo keeps fit he'd be left back way way ahead of Galloway. Which is no slight on the kid. He's been great. Way ahead of expectations. But you can see he's not really a left back just like Browning isn't really a right back. They both do a job there. A good job too. But they're futures lay at centre back.

Yeah, I think it has less to do with how transfermarket or FIFA classify Galloway and more to him never playing fullback before he moved to Everton. That being said, he's looked more and more comfortable there every match. Leaps and bounds from when he started against West Ham at the end of last season.

I don't think Funes Mori has been so amazing that he's undroppable

I think Galloway has done more this season to earn a place than Funes Mori

Oviedo is an actual left back. Makes more sense to play him than Galloway out of position

Oviedo and Galloway both deserve to further up the pecking order IMO. If Funes Mori has to be the one dropped for that to happen, then so be it

Come clean Mikey....you're still mourning the non-arrival of Virgil VD, and are bestowing your angst upon our Argentinian collossus.

While Jags is out FM is quite clearly first choice pairing with Stones.
Browning and Galloway are the players that would likely come in to play back up, with possibly Gibson and Barry at a push.

Left back first choice is probably Galloway atm but as Bryan gets fit he may force out Galloway with his attacking prowess.
Galloway's been great insofar as he has been able to gain experience at left back and develop his understanding of his defensive roles and how the team defends. LB is quite a different position to centerback though in terms of what is required, and as we haven't seen him play there I'm hesitant about chucking him in the deep end there.

Not really

Stones and Jagielka are clearly first choice CB's

With Oviedo and Baines out, it made sense to play him at LB because he can do it as an additional thing to his role as CB

If Oviedo stays fit, he may very well play more as a CB with Jagielka hurt, seeing as that's his first position

I think Martinez made it very clear that Galloway will be a CB after 50 games. So, for the time being he is a LB first.

Physically I'm not sure he's ready to be a PL CB. Needs to add some muscle. Maybe a CB in an early round FA Cup tie.

Stones really struggled with Giroud's physical play...Galloway would have gotten eaten alive.

Didn't Galloway play as a Defensive mid for MK Dons though? If that's true I don't see why he IS a CB when he hasn't played an extended period of games playing in that position competitively, not saying he won't be as I think he will make a good CB but hehasn't exactly played there and likes playing Defensive mid, Funes Mori shouldn't be dropped so Galloway and Oviedo can both play that's just insane.

I'd keep Galloway in and maybe bring Oviedo on as a sub to create down the left. Oviedo played well on Tuesday but playing 120 minutes after not playing for as long as he has will have taken it out of him and asking him to start on sunday could end up with another injury.

He looked pretty overweight but had a good game. He offers a lot more when going forward than Brendan. Would like to see him against Sunderland but that isn't going to happen though, is it
