Anyone else hoping Baines has a slight niggle for our first home game so Oviedo gets to play? I think the roof will loft off Goodison

I'd be more inclined to play Baines in a more advanced role on the left and have Oviedo at left back.

IMO our left back position was stronger when he filled in for Leighton last season.

They're both top LB's but I'd prefer Oviedo as an LM over Bainsey.

He is our next left back and will get time in cup games this year. Baines will eventually move to CM as Bobby has said in the past and Bryan will be LB.

Spoilt for choice in the position. Its proper hard not to love this fella though.

Seeing Chelsea spend 20m on Felipe Luis and Man Utd 27m for Luke Shaw makes me really appreciate the depth we have at left back.

We have Baines, Oviedo and a very promising youngster in Garbutt at for <10m - looks like Liverpool will have to pay more than that for Ben Davies alone.

There are plenty of things to bash him for, but one thing Moyes got right was getting in players of a certain ethos. The squad is filled with class all over.
