Now some may not be proud of their heritage, but were all here in it together. The British Isles. Were all part of that makeup.

Watching Top Gear last night and their hat tip towards the British sports car and how we used to have 140 car makers in 1910, and in 1930 odd we exported something like 60,000 cars and only imported 35. Now nothing wrong with a foreign car at all, but then there is nothing wrong with a British car either.

But many here may have had links with the British car industry, and all types of industry for that matter - and whether or not it is all down to Thatcher and the Tories is by the by - this country was always on the fast track to imports over exports - as it's cheaper.

Love or hate Clarkson he did say something quite moving - "It's not that we don't make cars anymore, we don't make anything anymore". That is hard hitting, as a nation that provided whole towns and cities with work from it's industry, and to see it just disappear because we would quite frankly rather someone else do all the hard work.

It's terrible.

Where are the handcrafted people of this nation? Is there any point getting a trade? Should we just not learn how to use a telephone and be done?

They all have it so wrong.

When I was in school they were all trying to get us to learn German because that is where all the jobs will be - strangely we would have been better off learning Spanish because that's where quite a lot of people went to work. More so than Germany anyway.

So what's next? Over to you Davek!

Bang on, get the pits open again, lets fire up car manufacture with over priced substandard pointless vehicles produced, same goes for ship building, hang on, but who is buying out there in the big bad world? No one has any money, Spain is on its ar$e, Germany just bailed Greece out, no one has any money.

So who is making stuff? Nobody?

What's next? Another period of mass unemployment caused by public sector cuts. Then the benefits system will be 'simplified' to incentivise the already existing 5M+ on benefits to chase after the sum total of 500,000 jobs on offer currently. British manufacturing will remain starved of investment - as they have been for decades - because the financial sector rules the roost and would rather invest their clients money abroad where costs are less. In short, it doesn't matter if the skills are in place when the political economy of the country is dead set against using it.

All our call centers are in India.

You call any help line here, and you get patched to India.

True story.

So what can we do about it?

Well that was the case for so long in this country, until it was complained en masse and some companies went out of their way to advertise they have British call centres.

Swerving this like.....

i don't know how or why, but everything will work out for the best soon

Thats the thing, im not saying this to be racist, but 9/10s I couldnt understand a word they were saying and had to repeat everything I said over and over again. Kinda like when I used to get Scottish call centres.

p.s, im not racist, I have lots of white friends.
