So do either of you reckon a bespoke kick taker is the right idea? Unsy was mustard, much less butterflies compared to nowadays, (a condition only made worse by Johnson after that pen taken three times). Maybe Bily is the man, he can certainly get some velovity into that sphere.

Ill be honest Unsys penos used to give me the shivers i was sure he was going ot miss everyone, i think he must have the record for the amount scored - proximity to the keeper - he just leathered them.

I vote Baines - South Paw messes with their heads, and the lad can belt and place.

It's well good the way MikelsGoat is usually like well normal and sound and then every now and then when he picks up on something he doesn't like he turns into this snivelly little internet detective gamer scouring irc and [Poor language removed].

You ever use one of these ,?

This thread needs to get massively on topic!

Please pardon me, I should not have indulged him, I should not have reacted to the things he posted and should have left well alone. Yakubu has never been a top penalty taker, I mentioned elsewhere that when at Boro he missed against us - he put it over the bar at their place. The Fiorentina kick was like a knife in the heart, and today he looked like he had missed it before he even kicked it.
Problem I see for Moyes is, if he gives it to a midfielder, the strikers that often win them (penalties) will have their noses pushed out of joint. I suspect a certain amount of pride at stake being outscored by a midfielder or defender if you happen to be an international striker.

Personal politics and keeping the boat on an even keel. The difficulty of management grows.

Your breaking my heart here mate, that pain is still raw! I remember Pompey at home as well last year - hes surely missed more then he has scored.

Well i think if Moyes can manage him sitting on the bench for most of the season i would see allocating pens as the least of his worries. Like i say Bainsey for me followed by the the BLS!

Thanks, you are the first person to post properly in reply without trying to snide me off in some way. There is a reason you are a mod.
Yeah the pain is still very raw, we beat Zenit that year, and we would have battered Rangers. Baines seems capable of putting his foot through one. I feel pen duty is too much for Vic and Vaughan, Yak has a record that is bad, and Saha appears not often enough to be the number one pen taker. Baines is a shout, Heitinga is a shout, and I honestly reckon Bily can finish, he does for Russia and might get a step up of confidence burying a few from twelve yards for free with that cleaver of a left foot of his.

Billy is a decent shout mate, he has the knack of knowing where the goal and is finishing seems the product of good techniuqe. Arteta as well, i wonder would the big man be any good he can crack a shot. Pity you dont take pens with your head!

I was gonna say something but we appear to of gone back on topic so guess i better to.

Yakubu should be banned from taking penalties, that lazy walk up just doesn't suit him whilst wearing blue.

For shame.

And i love Goat.

Arteta, Baines, Bily, Saha, Heitinga...in that order of preference.

By the way, what is a "weapon", in the context that it was used in this thread?
