The Cowboy

Player Valuation: £60m
Inspired by the Christmas present thread, did anyone have this game for the C64 or Amiga? Many a Sunday evening was spent with my folks and my uncle's family crowded round the dining table setting this up, then waiting eagerly to see the results slowly appear on the vidiprinter (aka 14" Saisho portable TV).

Absolutely brilliant fun.

Hahahaha I had this for the Spectrum.

Sadly I used to not even arse with the board game but fix all the stats so Everton win every game 9-0 and have the title wrapped up by February.

What's our name?

The bit where in a pissed up rage he punches a Home fan who runs past him in a pitch invasion and everyone is like, aww... That's our Brian, what a Character.
Then someone points out he's actually just punched a Home fan in a pissed up rage during a pitch invasion and everyone is like, there's no place for that in the modern game you alcoholic old has been.

No recollection of this at all. Looks incredible.

It was like Monopoly crossed with FM. You had a squad with a total value that you'd enter into the computer before each game, which affected the scores. Then you'd get gate receipts you could spend to improve your squad. The best bit was when you'd play against a family member, or getting to the FA Cup final and pulling in massive gate receipts.

Along with Atmosphere it was one of the few computer/tv & board game combos at the time, and worked really well.

It was tremendous, I used to badly cheat on it against my older brother. I'd have on the player auction pile two players with 4 ability on top. I'd get him bidding but I'd let him win them 2 auctions with practically all his cash spent knowing Norman Whiteside was next in the pile and he was rated 5 and a utility player. I'd pay next to nothing, I know some people will say you can't cheat against your brother but he is a kopite, all good.

Game could be so cruel, the " Been a car crash your two best players die in it " bang out of order having Whiteside die in a crash after you have snided him.

I'm adding it to my letter to Santa as we speak.

Nah sounds boss. There was another board game/video game wasn't there? Like some sort of Dungeon Master?

Ha, you remember it well! Always remember the 'crisis' square, which would see you lose all your best players and half your cash. As an 8 year old, that was pretty tough to take.

To be honest mate, that's gonna be tough for me to take in the coming summer.
