Not Safe For Work! Brass Eye

So did Brass eye help show all the people bought in by media horror stories change their minds and stop believing it? I don't think it did.

The public outcry shows that the same people who are stupid enough to believe the media were too stupid too realise what brass eye was doing. And thats pointing out the bleeding obvious really.

It comes across as a "look how stupid people are huh huh huh" thing. Which is all well and true, but not worthy of genius for me.

A bit like spending a lot of time and effort to point out the fact that Paris Hilton is an idiot. Yes we know thanks.

Although Chris Morris did partake in one of the funniest most brilliant pieces of original comedy ever written :

That's probably the best moment in an absolutely brilliant series. Repped.

Chris Morris moulded me into the pleasant and jovial man I am today.

Comic brilliance and a sound thrashing of media idiots to boot. I don't buy the 'Oh it's so mean to make fun of people willing to help a good cause'.

I agree with Will Self regarding Morris rightly spoofing the TV personalities or 'unpersons' as he put it;

"All Morris has done is to give these unpersons an opportunity to demonstrate the fact that they'll do anything to get a chauffeured car, a Styrofoam beaker of tea and five minutes in the green room goofing out with others of their ilk."

He can go from that genuine satire to absolute surreal nonsense and be equally fantastic.

First one is probably THE BEST SKETCH EVER.

There was no public outcry or media whirlwind after the series was shown the first time. So either people weren't watching, or the timeline of events in society meant a much more reactionary approach when it was aired the second time. Had there been no pressure on him due to media titilation and efforts of the politically super-correct he might have been able to churn out a couple more show. Sad it cost him a fair chuck of time really.

Hear hear.

Now you'd get the Daily Mail stalking you with their outrage and various Facebook groups full of idiots wishing death on you.

Got to give a Honey Badgers toss about such groups in the first place to pay them any mind, anyone with an iota of IQ shouldn't so let the morons fill their boots.
