Destroy ( & Denim sub brands) by John Richmond
Michiko Koshino
Replay
Armand Basi
Red or Dead (pre sale and distro in John Lewis etc)
Jean Paul Guiltier (still about but no where near as mainstream)
Passenger
John Richmond and Replay still going strong in TK Maxx

I’m getting strong ‘early 90s clubber’ vibes from you 😄

I was a big fan of Michiko Koshino and Armand Basi back then

I’m talking clothes wise, was looking at some pics earlier of when I visited Portugal many years ago and had a lovely Firetrap jumper on … not much change from £100 30 years ago but dead in the water now. Couple of others spring to mind too

Katherine Hamnet (expensive back in the day)
French connect
POD

Any more you may be able to recall ?
Pod are still available

Always preferred them to Kickers

Was down Sarf by then doing an apprenticeship, used to go to Neal Street in Covent Garden and blow a months worth of wages on some new clothes before heading off to some place or other to spend whatever I had left on a night out.

I’ve tried to find the Pod boots I used to own late 80’s but can’t find them anywhere…. Either my memory is playing tricks or they just look totally different today.
I love my kickers though, got a blue pair with the gum sole, I’ve had them for 7 or 8 years now and as I hardly wear them they are still like brand new.

Remember Troop trainers way back, and even further back when sportswear like Fila and Kappa (roll neck anyone?) was the rage, there was a brand called ‘Australian’ with a Kangaroo logo (obvs) that was quite pricey.
Looked mint with a pair of Adidas Tenerife or Palermo shoes 😆.

Razzy Jeans.
Rebs Jeans.
FU`s Jeans.
Ball Jeans ( lovely quality )
Inega Jeans and tops.

Fruit of the Loom ( when it wasn`t worn by tramps )
Fruit of the loom are generally pretty good quality imho, I’m sure I read somewhere they are still used by a number of expensive brands for manufacturing their tee shirts etc.
Not that I’d necessarily wear a branded FoTL tee shirt now like 👀

I remember when Chester Oaks had a Kappa shop in the early days. My Steplad was at that time bang into Italian football and Del Piero was his hero, Kappa made all the Italy team wear at the time, I used to go at Xmas time and get him a load of Italian footy gear at really cheap prices.

You can get a pack of 57 of them for £3 these days

I used to know a bloke who's involved in the Australian boxing scene with a bit of matchmaking and promotion. He'd got his hands on some team pacquiao jackets in about 2010 and I bought one off him without viewing it first. It's so bad I've never been able to part with it, just took a picture of it for your viewing.

Get a program and maybe a ticket from the same event and wrap it up as a bundle on ebay. See if you get a nibble. What did you cough up for this carbuncle of fashion?
