How would he have known he did nothing wrong? The final results didn't come out for months afterward. Forget Rivas, the WBC had more right to know than anyone, it was them sanctioning the fight. A fighter they were allowing to fight for one of their ranking spots tried to shut them out of knowing the full facts.

I have never said Whyte cheated, I'm saying he and his team deliberately misled the governing body, the fans and probably the broadcaster too over something very serious and they got caught red-handed by a cracking investigative journalist. Hearn is the worst snake of all.

I’m not saying Rivas would have known then, that’s the point. The fight would have been cancelled for something that had no material impact on the result.

He did nothing wrong. So why does it matter that they sought a secret hearing ?

Surely you don’t really think the broadcaster or the WBC would have preferred the fight to be cancelled. The WBC feigned outrage but in reality what they’re bothered about is $$$. Which is the same reason they didn’t let Whyte fight Wilder and threw Brezeale in over him.

He did do something wrong, how are you seriously arguing otherwise? He didn't take PEDs and cheat, I'm not saying that. His fault was not informing the governing body, not informing the opponent (that one is more on Hearn), not informing the broadcaster (who would have been well within their rights to withold his purse until the investigation was over). By doing all of the above he showed what a dishonourable and hypocritical ballbag he is. I wouldn't have anywhere near as big an issue if he wasn't constantly whinging in the press about how he's being avoided and mis-treated.

We’re not going to agree so I’ll leave it at that. Suffice to say I think it’s weird to call somebody a ‘dishonourable ballbag’ for operating within the law and being found innocent after a thorough investigation.

Is povetkin one of the most respectful fighters of all time? Always seems sound as fcuk

i know he dosent speak english like but he just seems a decent fella whos good at boxing

i like whyte, but i think he should of shown more respect with glove touches etc, i think aj mentioned it

Whyte is crap. Living of the left hook on AJ years ago. Since then he IMO lost against Chisora (all be it revenged that), got decked by Parker and Rivas and struggled against Helenius & Wach. Plus sparked by a 40 yrd old.

Garbage

Always enjoyed watching him fight but he actually is a banged to rights drugs cheat. He popped several years ago when he was supposed to fight Wilder in Moscow, was absolutely gutted when that one was called off.

Find it hard to root for him for that reason but last night was a cracking win for him at this stage of his career.
