Adonis Stevenson made bellew do the Stanky leg.
I rewatched that fight a few days ago funnily enough, I'd forgotten how weight drained Bellew was to make LH, he looked like a smack addict! Fighting at a comfortable weight, Bellew would be too big for Stevenson I think, and I think Bellew's overall ring nouse has improved dramatically since that fight

heard tales about him warren and malone all treating fighters pretty shabby, it only makes news when they have a court case with a big headlining fighter, but these guys have been screwing the run of the mill fighters for years, who are the bread and butter of the sport. It's why I stick up for the hearns, I know the matchmaking etc annoys people, but they pay and look after people far far better than some of the other vultures with their hands in fighters pockets

From my very very brief experience , If you speak to anyone in the game they’ll all moan particularly about warren . I think Hearn did/does so well is he pays his lads , doesn’t screw them or hold ticket sales over them so he could hoover up a lot of lads who were just fed up of it .

Exactly the same as what I've heard mate, I know of a few mersey fighters who had to fight tooth and nail for accommodation, travel etc with warren, they all speak highly of the hearns.

Hearn also knows who butters his bread as well, that's why he loves masher dodds, the lad outsold fowler and jones put together

Eddie Hearn put Ifl tv on his pay role of £500 per week plus paid for travel and accomdation. So IFL could travel around the country. Get all exclusive content out that features his fighters so they get more recognition.

Warren put them on a show on Boxnation and pays them £200 each per episode they film.

either luck or foresight, but how huge are IFL now, kugan must be loaded, and he has actually built relationships with the fighters.

As you point out, it came from doing things the right way, sure self interest is there, but that doesn't mean you have to short people

Yep .

Signed Dodd up on the sales of the first night he stepped in , that and his attitude . Another Difference with Hearn is though is he doesn’t demand sales to pay them , you’ll get paid even if you’re not a big seller . Punters Hate Hearn and the boxers love him .

I think whoever the main man is at sky will get hate from the punters, we all want to see this fight or that, and he has cashed in with PPV's and as all promoters do protected guys who punters wanted to see tested earlier, it's business at the end of the day, and as you and @widnesblue say and I completely agree, I would much rather have the hearns at the top of the tree, if theres any group of sportsman that deserve to be paid its fighters

He paid Dave Allen a bonus for the Lenroy Thomas rematch just for getting into excellent shape and the way the fight was stopped. Gotta give him credit for that.

People forget Boxing was on its arse in this country prior to Matchroom and Sky stepping their game up and giving it a much needed shake up.

Sky and Matchroom have delivered on domestic fights and international fights in the last couple of years compared to previous years. Long may it continue so we get all these fights.

I really don't understand all of the considerable dislike for Hearn that is apparent on a lot of the boxing forums. He really isn't liked among many of the 'hardcore' fans.

I can understand the rescentment that some feel towards Matchroom's connection with StubHub, but other than that I personally think he's sound. His boxers all seem to appreciate what he does for them, his interviews always seem honest, candid and funny (he often admits he's a bit of a bellend, but not a "bad bellend"), and he doesn't shy away from the fact that he's had a very priviledged upbringing.

Most importantly though, more often than not his cards are decent. Him and his old man have brought boxing alongside a lot in this country and hopefully with their new DAZN deal things will continue to improve.

Stub hub are one of his main sponsors ain’t they? I know Frank Warren as a lot to say on the stub hub thing but he doesn’t actually sell tickets directly to stub hub does he? It’s fans who put them up on there, just like football fans do, rugby fans go, entertainment tickets do.

Just watched that presser from his announcement and it sounds like a great investment into the sport from both sides.

Well that's the thing, many people say that part of the 'sponsorship' is that StubHub get designated swathes of tickets direct from Matchroom, which StubHub sell themselves for way over face value on their site and profit directly from. Not sure how true this is but it would explain how the tickets to the 'big' events sell out instantly and then all of a sudden, huge amounts of tickets in the same blocks etc. suddenly appear for sale at the same time

its true but there is new legislation in stopping it . Apparently

he probly learnt more from that fight alone than all the others put together
