Boxing

Most people think if a boxer isn’t a world champion then he’s a bum . There isn’t any middle ground with lots of people . It’s either world class or a bum.
I agree with this, there's absolutely nothing wrong with being British/Euro level but people do label such fighter as bums.

In regards to whyte, I feel he fits in to this catagory and feel he is still dining out on that second round against AJ. It's as though a shot Chisora giving him hell didn't happen.

I do like the fella though, and he's not fake and manufactured like Femi, oops I mean AJ.

He will prob get the Wilder fight now as Hearn and Femi will want to raise Wilders profile over here.

I have my doubts about Joshua actually wanting the Wilder fight. For some reason I can't see wanting to be enrolled on to Wada 365, the only heavyweight champion that is not already enrolled!

I’m convinced as well as getting a shot for Whyte that they want to use him as a stalking horse to see what wilder has actually got. that’s why ive been of the opinion for ages they’ll do everything they can to put him in there before a Joshua/wilder fight .

Is he really not enrolled? Quite suspect, if true.

Femi, or AJ as his promoters call him, seems to be the golden boy of UK sport. The Press idolise him and even compare him to Ali, whereas Tyson Fury (who has no criminal record) is persona non grata. With that in mind, I'd love to see him knocked off his pitch. It ain't gonna happen on Saturday night, though. My daughter could KO Parker.

That's a good point. I hadn't thought of that.

If Wilder looks unconvincing they'll get him over here to fight AJ as fast as they can, but if he completely dominates and outclasses Whyte they'll probably try to avoid him.

And if Whyte somehow beats Wilder then it's a massive, all-British unification fight at Wembley.

I don’t think he’s bad , he’s the world heavyweight champion and he obviously to be respected .

I’m talking specifically about aspects of his technique, his footwork and positioning on occasion appears genuinely poor, he’s in completely the wrong position to be throwing punches . That’s not me being a armchair critic but it’s him doing something your boxing coach would be telling you not to do at any level .

I’ve enjoyed watching wilder knock people out but Ortiz was his first real test and I was disappointed, I know he won but I didn’t walk away thinking yeah he showed me a lot more . All you can do is keep winning and he’s doing that but I think he’s going to face tests and if he doesn’t work hard in the gym at things he’s not doing right it’s going to cost him long term.

My point on wilder and you’re opinion was far from a dig it’s just I remember, when I remembered who you were , you saying he’s the most skilful heavyweight out there so it’s clear your a fan of the fella. For me he’s entertaining and he can certainly bang but at present it’s it’s technique and skill that let him down for me .

pretty sure I have never said that?

Genuinely not trying to have a go Mate and I think I do recall you calling him raw on occasion , just what I thought I remembered or more likely the way I read something .

I know you said

Really? I think Wilder is a very skillful Heavyweight. I think he's the best about.

But that doesn’t necessarily read like I’ve originally interpreted it .

wilder is very good

problem with him is that when he starts banging his opponents about he exposes himself a lot and Ortiz caught him a few times

not sure wilder's defence is up to scratch but if you have the power to knock out opponents like he does maybe he doesn't work as much on his defence

with Joshua's power though... if he gets caught once who knows...

Just watched the gloves are off, I just find Joshua an incredibly boring character, like he's manufactured or something.

Still undecided whether or not I'll fork out for this ppv yet.
