I marginally favour Eubank Jr. Don't know how many people saw his Abraham fight but the way he fought in bursts and how he responded when he got clocked - not visibly hurt, but an annoyed response - makes me think he has an incredible chin, a good boxing brain and mad stamina. Real deal I reckon; made up he's fighting a decent fighter in Groves so we can see for sure whether he is. The circus around him is exactly that; it's a head trip money making operation; look beyond it IMO and look at what the fighter actually does in the ring.

groves beats him . The size difference is too much And groves will actually hit him back . Great fight though .

I think it's a real 50/50 fight. It's Eubanks first real test since the Saunders fight. I know he fought Abraham recently but Abraham has been finished for a long time. Groves can start off slow and so can Eubank. It will be interesting to see how Eubank can deal with Groves jab. I like Eubank, a lot of people don't rate him but he can throw some good punches and got a great shot collection. I'd slightly lean towards Groves due to more big fight experience but to hard to call. Great British fight to start off the new year.

Finally got round to watching the Cotto fight today. What a great fighter he's been over the last 15 years. He always fought the best and was entertaining to watch. One of my favorite boxing memories was seeing him win the rematch against Margarito and standing over a broken Margarito too. Sadly he never got the win in his final fight, but you could tell age had caught up with him and he didn't have the legs, or speed to carry on. For such a small nation Puerto Rico have produced some excellent world champions and fighters. Surely he's up there with Felix Trinidad as the best to come from there?
 
Did anyone see David Price comeback fight (4th come back now lol ) it was streamed on IFL TV. He went the distance against a tough relatively skilled journeyman Kamil Sokolowski.

He weighed in around a stone lighter than he did against Hammer, which is a step in the right direction he was way to heavy in that fight and its one of the reasons his tank emptied.

Despite being a stone lighter, Price still gassed around round 4, he started the fight at a very fast pace which was obvious he couldn't keep up, he was having problems with Sokolowski's movement and couldn't time him with and power shots of note. He didn't commit to the jab so Sokolowski felt comfortable diving in to get close.
Price did win every round by the judges scores, I though Sokolowski took the last two rounds, however still a clear win for Price

In summary, he's marginally improved since loosing to Hammer but not made enough progress based on what we seen. If he had a rematch with Hammer he would loose again if he performed like he did Saturday.
If Price can come in another 10-15 lbs lighter for his next fight (around 230 he should weigh) he might be able to get a win at higher level and set up a decent fight

Honestly couldn't care less about Bellew and Haye now, Bellew isn't even a top 5 cruiserweight and Haye is the definition of a shot fighter, even before the injury the wild swings were embarrassing. Cant be arsed listening to months of Bellew talking about his Mrs and kids either, whopper.

his tank empties because he is terrified, the lads not a fighter
 
Groves/Eubank is an interesting fight styles wise, no outcome would suprise me in that fight, I do think Eubank has a good chin but he will certainly have too because Groves can really bang and is a lot bigger. Eubank throwing 30 punch combinations on static fighters like Abraham is all well and good but its no barometer for this fight, Groves will use his feet and his jab. If I had to lean towards one i would go with Eubank, If he stays away from a Groves bomb early I think he will get on top of Groves late on and either stop him late or nick it on points. Both beat Callum Smith in my book.
 

My two favourite fighters tonight, Lomo v Rigondeaux. Also seem Skound who Callum Smith beat in his last fight had a brain bleed and was taken into an induced coma today.
