Boxing

Has anybody heard the rumours of Oscar De La Hoya coming out of retirement to face Conor McGregor? For me this is a fantastic fight, one of the best that can be made in boxing, a fascinating clash of styles. De La Hoya is 44 and hasn't fought in 9 years, McGregor proved himself an unbelievable talent when he landed that one uppercut against TBE, this is a mouthwatering contest for me, some might scowl at this but I really can't wait, hope this one gets made. Really hope this doesn't drag on like Mayweather-Pacquiao did, these superfights need to be made asap.

Lomachenko-Rigondeaux soon. Two double olympic gold medalists, unbeaten as professionals. The real fight of the year. For the real boxing fans. Like me, the hardcore fans. The fans that love this sport. If you don't watch this fight you are a vile, sickening human who should never even mention boxing. You disgust me, i'm violently throwing up.

I'll be watching it but Loma bringing someone up 2 weight divs makes it a foregone conclusion imo.

De La Hoya has clearly had a session the beak, shadow-boxed in the mirror a bit and thought "God I still have it! I can batter that McGregor bloke!"

Farcical, McGregor has zero business in a boxing ring ever again.
I don't get this one from a promotion perspective. I mean, what's the big selling point? The novelty value of seeing whether McGregor could hold his own against a past-their-best ex-champ has well expired for me. The actual fight between him and Mayweather wasn't terrifically thrilling and De La Hoya just represents a bit more of the same as Mayweather here for me.

If they're going to push him into boxing then match him up with a fighter who has a similar all-action bully style and sit back and watch the fireworks. I'd much rather watch him properly go toe-to-toe with someone than watch Mayweather or De La Hoya walk around his punches while throwing their pillow fists back at him for 12 rounds.

it half a pay day for De La Hoya who has put millions up his hungry nose since retiring.

That Is All

McGregor would genuinely beat De La Hoya up now though, even in a boxing ring. Oscar is 44, retired about a decade ago because his body broke down from injuries and since then hasn't exactly lived the healthiest of lifestyles. Floyd may have been getting on but he's always kept in shape and was only a year or so out of the ring, it wasn't any effort at all for him to train for.

Oscar is desperate for attention and money because he's partied everything away and is now a laughing stock with fans who used to cheer for him. It's quite sad.
