Boxing


I got 4 tix for the fight on Saturday, in ace seats.

Keeping 2 for me and my wife and the other 2 are on Ebay.

The fight itself could be an absolute belter or, over quite quick.

Can only seean AJ win and, looking forward, total dominance in the HW division.Do feel slightly that he has not been hit hard yet....we will see.
 
The main fight will be a good contest and certainly not the walkover people are expecting, Klitschko has a very stand off style that has prevented him being hit for 11 years, he's very good at not getting hit with a very strong jab that keeps people off of him, the talk of Joshua walking in and knocking him straight out are well wide of the mark. Joshua's best chance will be a knockout mid rounds (i predict rd 8) due to throwing combinations which Klitschko, due to his age and reduced energy, will struggle to get out of the way of as the fight wears on. This though will leave Joshua vulnerable to the counter and if he gets hit by Wlads right hand he will go down, anyone who has stood in front of him and traded has been knocked out. Haye avoided a knock out by being elusive, Fury beat him by doing the same but he had the size to get in and hit him which Haye didn't, this caused Wlad all sorts of problems as he really does not like to be hit.
Joshua will need to ensure he doesn't stand in front of him, keeps him on the back foot to nullify the power in the right hand and throws combinations to open him up.

The real disappointment is the lack of undercard, you'd of thought that fighting at Wembley would have them all lined up trying to get a chance to fight there, but all there is really is Scott Quigg and Luke Campbell which are both eliminators. Would have hoped for more for the cost of the event.

Will still be paying for it though

Like any heavyweight fight since the mid-90s, it may be but probably won't be.

I think people are writing off Klitschko too easily. He's a horribly boring but very effective boxer who may have just had the off night of his career against the awful Fury.

Joshua isn't as technically sound, but has more power and is quicker. He'll have to get his shots off first and nullify the Klitschko jab early doors - if he does, it'll be an easy nights work. If Klitschko controls the range, he could grab a late stoppage or win at a canter on points.

It's a really hard one to predict - doesn't mean it'll necessarily be exciting though.

She's quality, no doubt, but her opponents aren't anywhere near her so the fight isn't exciting.
Scott Quigg is a quality fighter but doesn't get the blood pumping, Luke Campbell is overhyped and has plenty to prove. That's it, there should be a quality undercard for such a fight.
I'm pretty sure when Froch Groves fought at Wembley the undercard was brilliant, De Gale was one of the first on, Mcdonnell had a title fight, Kevin Mitchell was on it I think and that might have been a title fight and Joshua was on it as well. Well worth the money, this one is banking on AJ bringing in the sales

Part of me wants to see the old lion pull off one more big win
 

AJ is hiding glass, if Wlad can make him walk on to one then it's going to be goodnight.

Whyte buzzed AJ and Whyte has no power, Chisora was eating digs off Whyte the other month. I can't believe all the hype AJ gets for beating pregnant journeymen.
 
I heard bellew the other day saying he's probably gonna have a crack at this division now. Would I be right in saying he wouldn't stand a chance against these two though?
