Boxing

Problem I have is do I pay to watch the fight or wait a day or two & see it for "free" on SS1 already knowing the result.

decisions, decisions

Looking like Pacquiao Khan for April, I like it, makings of a decent scrap. Even an ageing Manny should have enough to win.

Not sure we'll ever see Brook Khan now, both looking like being in tough fights, a loss for either will see demand for that wane.

For me errol spence is a tougher fight than Khan, though harder to sell to the casual fan and make the huge bucks, if Brook beats spence he is the number one welter in my mind, it's a very very tough fight

I'd agree that Spence is the tougher fight, I wouldn't go as far as to say he's number 1 if he beats him. Let's see how Thurman Garcia goes, winner there can also stake a claim.

And I know you're not his biggest fan but I still reckon Manny gives most at 147 a stern test.

If he can beat Spence theres plenty of big fights at 147, interested to see how he fares coming back down after the ggg fight.

Here is what Dave Coldwell (Bellew's trainer) says as quoted in the Sunday Times:

"If Tony makes a mistake and gets tagged in Round one, it's all over. For two rounds Haye will be lightening fast; then for the following two rounds he will be fast. After that, if Tony is still there, it will become very interesting. Remember that Haye has not been hit with 10oz gloves for a long time. We all know what Haye used to be, but we haven't a clue about the 2017 version."

About spot on IMO though i think Haye will win in 3 by TKO and then try to tempt Joshua in to a fight

That's what worries me for Bellew, is he trying the same tactics from the Stevenson fight? Bellew should be trying to put pressure on Haye. The one thing about Haye is, he fights awful on the back foot and is like a cat trying to swim. If Tony lets Haye come straight at him then be over early. Bellew has good foot work so he will be able to close the gaps for some early jabs. Hopefully Bellew will be able to get close to Hayes chest and let some uppercuts go.

I don't want it to happen but Haye will KO Bellew in 3, Bellew has always shown a weak chin and Haye hits hard. Think Caldwell is right tho, the longer it goes the more of a chance Bellew has, can't see it lasting long enough.
He's shown a weak chin but apart from the Stevenson fight, he's got up. Them shots Ovil McKenzie hit him with would of put a horse to sleep. McKenzie only started getting the credit after he retired. Most of the other times he's been knocked down he's been flat footed. Haye has been knocked down a couple of times in his career. Haye got knocked out in sparring twice by a super middleweight when he was at his peak. Everyone is chinny if you get hit with a good shot.

My extra worry is that he wasn't a lean cruiserweight ; conditioning isn't his forte . It will be interesting to see what he looks like at the weigh-in at heavy, where he has a lot more scope for carrying the extra weight.

If he comes out full of nervous energy ready for a brawl he's is going to get eradicated. Ignore the nonsense about "relaxed and fun" training camps - Haye will be determined to pee all over Hearn's chips. £3m for the Bomber to go in with a puncher's chance and all fair play to him

Haye looks like a Monster. Tony can't afford to try and box him for the fight, Haye is too clever to take a big punch, David Coldwell is spot on, I would love Bellew to win, but he will try and catch him with big punches.
