Boxing

Details on the news just, thankfully few pictures, how has the driver managed to hit a broken down truck that had been roadside waiting rescue since the day before? I have no info re the following, but were the two big SUV's playing silly buggers with one another at high speed? The Joshua vehicle is written off and appears to contain two fatalities. Is the other survivor in one piece, they only seemed to focus on AJ.
Saw something earlier saying they tried to undertake the moving lorry (which was in the outside lane) and hit the broken down one on the inside lane. No idea if true or not though.

Takes on a much more serious meaning now doesn't it. Joshua is lucky he hasn't broken his arms and legs.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's kidnapped for ransom looking at the footage. Hes just made a boatload and the blokes filming are earning 50p a day.

Them bits are easy fixed.
It's the mess in his head after witnessing what he did that'll take some serious fixing.
Just a brief clip on my phone was bad enough. 🤮

Survivors guilt will have a serious impact on him for the rest of his life. Dunno how true it is, but pretty sure both guys who lost their lives, live in the same house as him in Dubai. He’s not been the same fighter since Ruiz beat him, that will be nothing compared to what he’ll be as a human after this tragedy. Hopefully the people around him who really care about him, help him and the leeches stay away from him.

Benn and Eubank both visited tragedy though their career, McGuigan as well. Granted bout serious injury is different to every day about your business accident turning into fatality stuff. He's been tapering his career off all the same. Best going out with your faculties in tact etc. I wonder what Nigerian plod will make of the circumstances - it'll run for a bit this.

Very much doubt he’ll fight again. The impact it will have had on him to lose two close friends but also coaches will destroy him. The mental aspect will destroy him but god knows what physical damage he could have.

Might sound strange but you know the dangers of boxing and what could happen. Fighters are prepared for that. Outside of the ring, it’s a total different thing probably. Joshua going to Nigeria to see family, and you lose two friends, that will play on him forever. He’ll constantly be thinking why did I go. Seen reports that Joshua was unconscious for 10 minutes too. He’s been very lucky. Hopefully he’d gonna have the right support around him.

He's always seemed a bit fragile mentally anyway, and I dont mean anything bad by saying that, just how he's reacted to defeats and setbacks through his career.
Hope he gets the care he's gonna need, he won't be in a good place right now.

I get what you mean, totally agree too. He seemed to put a lot of pressure on himself to be the perfect fighter for the fans and not lose. The pressure on him, was the most intense seen for a British fighter in the 33 years of watching boxing. That played a major part in his downfall in the ring too. The pressure to fight the best, he tried too, others didn’t want it.

People don’t like him but if it wasn’t for him, Boxing wouldn’t be in the position it is now. What he did for British boxing, was incredible. He raised the profile of boxing to heights in this country it hasn’t seen.

He doesn’t get the credit of respect he deserves from boxing fans, cos once he’s out the sport. You’ll see a big decline unless have a fighter with his marketable presence again.

They don't give Olympic golds away to just anyone.
He got unlucky a generational turned up in Usyk.
He was woefully unprepared for ruiz.
Think there is a lot of mistrust around the fury bout that couldn't get made.
Lewis was the last top tier champion, prime Lenny vs Usyk would be top draw. Holyfield Usyk good as well, very different fighter, could do cruiser and HW each.
