Boxing Day at Goodison....the highs and the lows.

I think I've been to 21 Boxing Day home games in all - United 2-6 and Sheff Wed 1-4 definitely the worst. I'm going to nominate the Wigan game from 2012 as my favourite as this was the very last proper game I went to with my old man (we also saw the reserves draw 0-0 with the RS a few months later).

I lived in Stretford back then and had to go home on my motorbike, freezing cold to a house full of gloating Manu family... I hated Macari and co with a passion that day and for a long, long time afterwards.

Didn't he score with an overhead kick that day?

I'm pretty certain that was a couple of years earlier mate,December 1975,in my minds eye now it is up there as one of the best goals I've ever witnessed,he was right at the corner of the penalty area up at the park end/bullens road side with his back to goal,he took off and it flew in the top corner,I was ten at the time and maybe the passing years have exaggerated the goal as it wasn't on television but that's how I recall it!!!

Woeful.

Was there for that. Just weeks after West Brom had put 4 past us.

Followed up by a home derby defeat too. Dark times.
