I was 8 and always remember getting for Christmas,a subbuteo set(I got the Everton team and for some unknown reason,Coventry City),the yellow double diamond umbro EFC away kit and a ticket in the top balcony to watch us get stuffed 6-2 by Man Utd. Man U to be honest were pretty crap back then (unlike this current Spurs team)hadn't we gone unbeaten for 3 months, while they were struggling, but sitting there today bought back so many memories of that afternoon. I'm sure there must be many blues of my vintage and more who remember that day well.

I remember the game well. A drunk came on the pitch while the game was being played around him, Lou Macari clipped the drunk round the ear, it was an age before the stewards and coppers came on and escorted him to safety. I was hoping that the game would be abandoned just like yeaterday, I thought
the coppers could have arrested Pickford for impersonating a goalie?

Remember that United game so clearly !

Didn't we then go to Leeds a couple of days later and lose 3-1?#efcruiningourxmasforever;):)

It was the next day Dario - bred them tough in those days!

I seem to remember the following season we were unbeaten in the league until the Saturday before Christmas when we lost 3-2 on a partly frozen pitch at Coventry. Gordon was fuming about the game going ahead and our season went downhill from there.

I remember that, the drunk fella running on the pitch.

I remember Gordon saying something along the lines of"My players are risking their bloody "loives" out there";):)
