Player Valuation: £1.5m

We would miss him hugely.

He is pivotal to the defence.

Moyes wants him.

The team want him.

The fans want him.

I think he wants him.

Money is fantastic to have, but who are we going to buy to replace him.

One thing getting a huge pay out, another thing completely having someone to spend it on.

somebody should bury a hatchet in that nob'eds forehead.

terry is an over rated egotistical clogger, self promoted in an era when the "shat-pack" made out they were the so called golden generation. most of them ended up as team-mates of him and now the new "i'm worth this much" generation are all heading to middle-eastlands.

In his statement last night Moyes said no one is leaving the club. Who are going to believe.

Me, I will go along with Moyes.

good enough for me. nevertheless i do think we could do with some sales over the summer.. hibbert, osman, vic come to mind.. out with the old and in with the new and all that..

personally i think lescott would be hugely missed and yup even with the cash who would we get in terms of similar.. let alone superior quality?

Probably a southern shandy drinking Chelsea fan that wrote that - maybe it was Tim Lovejoy in disguise.

You top 6 defenders in the premier league are - Terry, Ferdinand, Vidic, Lescott, Jagielka, Carreghar (spits) IMO (I'd say Calvaleho but he hardly played last season).

And as pointed out in the talk back before - Lescott scores goals, can play left back, hasnt been sent off, isnt an elbow smashing, face spitting, body checking dirty [Poor language removed] that Terry is. So no, he's not in the same league as Terry. He's in a differnet league to him - a proper hard working centre half.

Thing is though Rob, its a whole different scenario the second Lescott says he wants to leave - which make no mistake is exactly what he would do if City approached with the reported wages...

well if that happens i hope its sooner rather later. nightmare scenario is city screwing us by coming in with a late, late bid and we have no time to get someone else in before the window shuts.

I was going to have a rant in the comments below this ridiculous article, but some RS had the sense to say what I wanted to say.

This article seems like it was written from a man who judges the quality of footballers on media attention and biased commentators. If you had in fact watched Lescott at all in the past 2 seasons you will see how his powerful perfomaces week in week out have kept everton knocking at the door of "the big four" for the last 2 years. He is strong and agile and lethal in the box(16 goals in 2 seasons) oh sure on paper its easy to say John terry is streets ahead of lescott. after all he is captain of England and chelasea, a champions league player and premiership winner. Terry is the better player but Lescott is a fantastic second choice. Mark Hughes has made great signings so far this season and I expect him to continue. If you want to critizise and judge a club on poor signings well then write an article on REAL MADRID (and I will be justified on this statement come the end of the season).

As I have said many times in other threads, he can get those wages any season and more if his improvement continues.

But maybe for now he has the brains to know that he stands more chance of being picked for next years world cup squad by playing in europe this season, and not being a bit part player at Man City. If we are out of Europe by the January transfer window then it will be a different story.

Not all players move for wages. I give Lescott some credit if this is the case.
