I Imagine 500k would be a lot to a club like them?

They're a team in the second tier of Dutch football. I'm assuming it's quite a lot.

I'm excited for this guy though. Although I was sold as soon as I saw the words "lightning fast".

It seems we are taking the Arsenal approach of investing in youngsters- lets hope it pays off! Imagine a flurry of good youngsters coming in like the golden generation of united, who says you dont win anything with kids.....???

Yes, it's definetely a lot for clubs like Cambuur. Although Cambuur has been a more steadily run club than my club Fortuna over the last decade, every club can use transferfees like this. For example the playersbudget for wages at Fortuna is 750k and by the laws of the Dutch FA, you have to have at least 16 (semi) pro's. So any club in our division which has a player with Bob Schepers potential in their youth/senior squad, is desperate to sell.

Sheppers blasted over in the 80th minute, and Forfar goalkeeper McLean pulled off a very good save from Savic with five minutes left as Everton pushed for a winner.

so it was schepers who set up the winner

We should just sign him up without delay. At 500k, even Championship sides can afford him and the last thing we need is another kid being snap up under our noses. Happened last season when one of our trialist was snap up by Wenger.

need a bita help with this 1 dutch - any help with the translation.

Or actually translated it in google seems as if we have 1st choice and if not take him groningen will buy him....
thats what u have already posted dutch anyway

loan him, SC Cambuur would prefer to sell

Strange thing is, the report says he will join Groningen on a (seemingly) permanent deal, if Everton don't take up the option of signing him. Looking at the Cambuur message boards, they are reporting he would only be loaned out to Groningen and can be called back at any time. Would be a strange deal though, as Groningen is a much bigger club than Cambuur and also play in the Dutch highest division.

I think we probably need to sell to bring him in. So lets hope the Jukebox to Coventry deal happens soon.
Correct me if I'm wrong and I asked that question before, but doesn't Everton have something like an academy budget? This being completely outside the transfermoney earmarked for the first team. Schepers having his trial with the youth/reserves, would make you think, he'll go straigth into the academy.
