Bob Schepers

I have to say Bob Schepers is one of the worst names I've ever heard. He sounds like a door to door salesman.
Hello, I'm Josh Schepers, a (rather) close relative of Bob's. I've been following this thread for a few days now and feel like I must response now. Schepers is a common name in Holland and means Shepherd. The "Sch" is pronounced with a dutch "g", almost impossible to say for you british. Although it is my name as well, I agree that it isn't a name that sounds well internationally. I've already advised Bob to simply be called "Bob" or something, like the brazilians. Even Ruud Gullit had his name changed, his real last name is Dil. Obviously, being Dutch, I don't understand certain things here, f.i. why a "Bob" wouldn't be any good. Probably inside humor.
Anyway, I haven't spoken with Bob since monday and I'm just as (probably móre) curious as you guys about how he's doing. He's always been poor about sharing information ;). So please: don't stop posting everything you know.
And of course; please excuse my English.

Hi Josh, here's a picture of Bob playing for Everton against Clyde last night:

Schepers is a cool name, don't worry about it.

I think it's just a joke as Bob doesn't sound very exotic, it's just scouse humour mate, nothing to do with the surname. Thanks for your post and any information on what type of player you would compare him to etc. would be appreciated. Cheers.

For your information:
Bob is a real "oldfashioned" winger. Althought his right foot is almost as good as his left (he's almost completely two-footed), he prefers to play on the left side. His technique and speed are very good. He's great in one on one. Although most things in life came easy for him, he is very determined to make it in football.
In my opinion he has (at least) two points that need tot be improved.
- His positioning. He is not used to defending that much (in youthteams he played they always played for the championship) and should learn, by beter positioning, to make defending easier on himself.
- His fysical condition. Although he is 'fit enough', he should get a lot fitter. Matter of time, surely. He was busy with school and wasn't able to train daily. He seems to devide his strenght (even with the 1st squad of Cambuur) to be able to make it the whole 90 minutes. But as mentioned, that's only a matter of time. He told me that the pace of the training with Everton was a lot higher than he was used to with the 1st squad of Cambuur.
All in all I am pretty sure that he will make it. He is different than most other players. And, when he is on a roll, it is a pleasure to watch him play.
But maybe I'm a little biased.:P

Thanks very much, he sounds like he would be suited to the premier league and left footed with a good right peg players are like gold dust. I hope he impresses the coaches and we sign him. Cheers mate.

Wheres Dutch Toffee when we need him? A fellow Hollander here, and well Dutchie is nowhere to be seen? Very disappointed in you Belgie.

Poor from Le Dutch.

Not good enough. He should be here for this momentous occasion.

Yep, I'm online, but have to admit (not for the first time on this matter), that I know as much about Bob Schepers as you all do. He only played about 3 times for Cambuur's first team, last season and I didn't watch the highlights, as they play in the same division as Fortuna. So I was either getting pissed (after the match) or being pissed of by yet another no show by the boys in yellow and green. Give his family member some credit. Honestly believe he knows him well better than me.:)
