Thanks lads. Means a lot.
Fred Pickering before injury was a brilliant goal scoring no 9
Seems to get forgot IMO!
Soem things never change! 30 goals in a season when nobody was scoring anything like that amount and us blues bitch that he wasnt running around like Jim bloody Pearson did! I recall around the same period soem people, who sat by me shouting at Martin Dobson for not tackling?...I liked Bob, he was excellent at converting chances but many on here would be unhappy with him because he didn't run around much.

Now you're an adult, do you use toilet paper?I was last off the pitch when he got his 30th, they where waiting to kick off and Bob said "you'd better get off kid". I shook his hand and wiped my arse left handed for about a month after as it just felt wrong using the same hand that i used for Bobs handshake. Funny how 13 yo kids think.
Yes but not that awful stuff (mycell) i think. It slid off your arse and left your back like you'd been run over by a Harley 1200 chopper. Now you're an adult, do you use toilet paper?
A case of, "You don't know what you've got, until you don't have it any more." Bob was not what you would call an "exciting" player to watch, but it didn't matter, because you just knew he was always good for a goal. Maybe that's the difference between a good old fashioned center forward and the nebulous anomaly of today, otherwise known as a "striker", (a striker used to be someone who didn't turn up for work, as a protest for something better..... oh wait.....Soem things never change! 30 goals in a season when nobody was scoring anything like that amount and us blues bitch that he wasnt running around like Jim bloody Pearson did! I recall around the same period soem people, who sat by me shouting at Martin Dobson for not tackling?
Sometimes we dont deserve good things!![]()
I'm fed up with politics, and now we've a manager I'm sitting about waiting for us to sign boss players.
So in the meantime, let's continue our occasional Saturday strolls down memory lane and have a look at Big Bob Latchford.
I just missed out on seeing him but my dad loved him. Tell us about him blues......
I keep meaning to get his book. This guy , in my opinion sits at the same table as Dean , Sharp and Kendell . I Idolised him as a kid . Had the pleasure of meeting a few years back . And he adores Everton more than any other club . Legendary player .
Great movie , watched it 10 times . Swamp Rats .
I went to the same primary school as his kids. He ran a menswear shop in Formby after he retired, near to Phone-a-Meal and The Grapes for anyone who knows Formby. He was our shining light at a time when they were winning everything!
Get off my lawn .Great movie , watched it 10 times . Swamp Rats .
