A salary voted for by RMT members. Would you turn it down ?
No idea, obviously. But often, despite being politically miles apart, politicians can become very friendly with their opponents. They admire the principles each other hold, even if they do not agree with each other.
John Major and John Smith spring to mind, and I am pretty sure Dennis Skinner is very pally with quite a few Tories. Away from politics of course.
Dennis Skinner is one of the few parliamentarians not to engage with "the other side". In fact he is quite the loner. When asked in a Guardian interview who his friends were in Parliament (this was in 2012) he replied "Bob Cryer". Bob Cryer was the former MP for Bradford South and was killed in a car crash in 1994.
Oddly enough he became quite close to Tony Blair.
Anyway back on topic, RIP Bob Crow - good to see that his passion for "his people" is acknowledged across the political spectrum.
I don't know the ins and outs of how he came to get such a salary but If I was going to spout self righteous tosh about being a 'service to civillisation' with a serious face I would hope I would fall in line with the average salary of the people who paid my wages.A salary voted for by RMT members. People say the same thing about MP's who are supposed to be representing the public and can vote for pay rises themselves.
£145,000 salary though. In it for himself.
i wonder what he did with the money?

But Bob Crow wasn't doing the job of those who paid his wages, so why should he be paid the same ?
Everybody in life is 'in it for themselves' to some degree, but in the process Bob Crow improved the working conditions of millions.
The Premier League should be having a minutes silence/applause at the weekend games. They did it for a useless parasite like the Queen Mother, someone like this feller has really earned one though.
No chance of that, of course...the horrible crew of profiteering scumbags who run this league would have hated Bob Crow....Millwall might, but then that's another story/league.

Always has to be somebody to post negative stuff I suppose:
