The Moyes is Back in Town
So HBO do it again, if you thought the Sopranos was good wait til you see this. Produced and directed by martin scorsece Boardwalk Empire is set in 1920 Atlantic City at the start of prohibition. it uses real historical characters, Al Capone (played by that scouse lad from this is england), Lucky Luciano, Enuck Thompson. the show doesn't just stay in Atlantic City it jumps between Chicago and New York. check it out, violent as hell. 1st 6 episodes are available to download at the moment.

Saw the first episode, and it does just ooze quality.

Nice to see Steve Buscemi in a serious, leading role too. He's always been an underutilised and underrated actor.

I caught a few episodes at my hotel the other week. Top, top show. Really good writing and acting.

having got a clue when it's starting over here in the uk but alot of shows start around early november here by the looks of it. yeah 1st 6 episodes are out there to download. episode 7 is on this sunday in the states, i shall be downloading it on monday.

RFUS- i think buscemi's awesome in it, and as you say he's never been used properly.

He is awesome, I will try look into this. Sounds good, thanks for le tip

It's absolutely the best new show I've seen in ages.

Basically is Soprano's in the 40's - with Irish bootleggers rather than Italian drug smugglers (and the rest).
Same power struggles between gangs, racial issues, gangland hits, hookers/mistresses (and lots of boobies), extremely likable main character etc...

It's Tommy from Snatch that's playing Al Capone - doing it surprisingly well too.

Agreed, though if you haven't seen it yet then I suggest you add Trees Lounge to your LoveFilm list. Great film.

That's Stephen Graham I think. Kirkby's finest. Great actor, not a surprise he's doing it well really.
