Settlers of Catan

Heard of this one. How good is it for board game novices?

I've heard that's really good, but never played it myself. We'll be playing a few games tonight and tomorrow. Normally play Carcasonne, but not got that here this year. Might play the Civilisation game tonight, or a few other random ones I bought cheap earlier this year. Also some Bananagrams.

that’s the beauty with them Phil. They are dirt cheap nowadays for endless fun and interaction.

Seem to have gone away in recent years but I made a stance to buy some this year.

Just been playing ludo and jenga with the kids. Was brilliant.

Anyone still play them or bought any this Christmas?

We quite often pay Monopoly and Cluedo with our kids!

Both classics. My kids are to young for them at the moment.

Easy game to learn, hard to master. The best board game ever imo. Ticket to Ride is great too

Got my step son and his wife, my daughter and her partner all coming around Sunday night for a games night... uno, trivial pursuit, cards against humanity, frustration.... we shall all be too drunk to play any more than that. Love a good games night, we do it quite often as a family get together.

UNO is absolutely brilliant fun.

Magnificent call, sir! Hilarious game. Have been helpless with laughter on occasion

Always loved a board game, right back to being a kid and loving half-forgotten ones like Spy Ring, Battle Of The Little Big Horn, Colditz, Blast Off and Wild Life

I go to a board games club every week now, love it - something different to try every week
