Blues who should've won something here

I think it must be the drink induced fog, but I thought I saw Mick Lyons on one of these sporting superstar team event things years ago on the telly. His team won it and he said something like "first time I've held a trophy'. I've just tried to find find any reference on the net and couldn't. Does anyone else remember seeing it or should I just put it down to old age.........

Was Andy King still at Everton for the 84 FA Cup Final? He was there for the Milk Cup.

He certainly wasn't in the team that day.....and he came on as a sub in the Milk Cup final replay IIRC.

It is possible he was transferred on the old transfer deadline day we used to have near the end of March meaning he wouldn't have still been with us by the time we faced Watford.

I'm not sure how the medals work, then and now actually, but I'm guessing he may have played in one of the early rounds so he could be classed as being an FA Cup winner at least by todays rules?

I'm guessing that squad players today get a medal even if they don't play in the final itself? I may be completely wrong on that mind I've never looked up the rules on it.

I would doubt the whole squad get a medal even nowadays, Nev.

Non used subs do, that's for sure.

I must admit I haven't a clue what the criteria was for the Cup. I think the league is 10 matches minimum to get a medal.

In theory it would be harsh on a player who played every round but was injured for the final to not be recognised. I'd have to look up how many he played in that run, don't think it was much if any though from memory.

Edit, did Sheedy miss out on a medal?

Just had a look on t'inernet mate,Richo actually played,Sheeds was injured and old Zico was indeed sub:)

Feck......I would have bet money Sheeds played in that final.

Though even as I was posting my reply to you, I had recollections of seeing Richie playing at Wembley that day but thought he must have been a sub.

Yes, if he didn't play in the Final he wouldn't have got one.

Tim Cahill - 2008 League Cup

I seriously thought we were going to pull it off. Until the 4'6 SWP rose like a salmon above 6'2 Lescott and squirted all over our dreams like a bukake a-lister
