Blue Union Board Angst

Wasn't it made patently clear that to buy players we had to offload at least one player for a significant sum due to FIFA rules about player wages?

Unfortunately not. At least once a day someone tries explains it in the transfer thread when someone else claims sell to buy. It is then argued with "we could have bought and then sold" and then we end up back in a circle.

This hell should be over by September.

Until january

My problem with the "new regime" is the GK situation. We knew from March onwards that we needed a new no.1. Howard was on decent money which would have freed up wages. Add some more wages and we would have enough to sign a top draw keeper.

Yet despite supposedly having a 100mil+ Transfer warchest we have only signed fulham's reserve GK so far. The season starts tomorrow and he is our new no.1. If we really had the money/warchest mentioned above I have to say that we surely would have signed a new GK by now??? I really hope that we have been promised Hart when city sign a new keeper and that is the only hold up. Though Personally I'd take Butland, Forster, and Schmeichel over Hart.

I suppose we have to wait until the window shuts to judge the intent of the new regime. The signs don't look good though. Especially when we only started seriously bidding for players once Stones was gone. Someone at Everton needs to consider how this look (bidding for players the second someone is sold) from a PR point of view. What are most fans going to think apart from "they've finally got some money to spend now Stones is gone".

The problem in terms of the board is still lack off communication regarding the on-field objectives for me. What are our targets this season? What is our 3 year goal with Koeman? No one knows and I don't think the board want to say anything regarding on-field targets because then the first response will be "why haven't you given the manager any money for transfers then?".

People talk of Koeman/Walsh as a sign of intent but I personally think they may have got Koeman in just as a better coach than Martinez and got Walsh in to sign bargain basement players. I suspect Both have been bribed with wages. People also talk of the tarting up of Goodison but this is small potatoes compared to a new striker, which is what we really need. Of course there is talk of a new stadium but I can see our hopes of a new ground being tied in with Liverpool's commonwealth games bid.

We'll see I guess.

I genuinely really really dislike some of our fanbase

Well that's a very sad state of affairs to come out with a statement like that.Im not necessary pro Blu Union or anything but there's no harm to have a fans group that are willing to play the devils advocate and ask the hard questions of the club hierarchy imo.I see no good coming out of blind obedience and silence. The same club hierachy that promised a shopping spree this summer after all.A protest is a bit much alright but there stance doesn't make them any lesser an Evertonian imo.As much as some people will say otherwise.

You know what......when I 1st saw this I thought. Naa this is wrong, the fella has only just got here. But more I look at it, the more I'm having to agree with them. What has changed? As of now nothing.

We've let bill an co. Get away with running us into the ground for far to long.

Nothing wrong with keeping the pressure up on this new board. We can't let another gang of cu*ts do what bill did.

Must say I'm very sceptical about everything at the moment. Moshiri has 2 weeks to change my mind....

This is nothing short of EMBARRASSING. I'm normally in favour of the Blue Union but this is just utterly and absolutely embarrassing. They're bending their knees here to the utter mentalist lunatics moaning how we haven't won the quintuple with Messi and co. overnight.

We get at minimum roughly a £140m kitty to spend - which right now seems like we actually do, £100m from Moshiri's initial investment and £47m from the Stones sale. We've confirmed to have spent £16m on players so far, with £25m and £18m deals for Bolasie and Kone almost completed which takes us to £59m. We also want to complete a £30m deal for Mata - £89m - with a final bid for another forward, Slimani etc. of I'd imagine around £25m as well. In total our final 4 transfer dealings - fitting right into what Mr Koeman has mentioned in regards to our dealings - means we spend £114m. And that's on transfers alone. Could you even fathom us purchasing that many players and spending that much money in a single window during the Kenwright era, never mind ones who have had success in this league?

We have spent around £30m sacking Martinez bringing in a successful, Premier League-proven manager widely rated as one of the best in Europe, as well as all of his coaching staff. Don't forget highly-regarded Director of Football Steve Walsh who has scouted players who have proved to be crucial parts in trophy wins and who have became club legends - Drogba, Essien, Mahrez, Kante etc.

"Sell to buy". That's exactly it - the club doesn't have an unlimited wage bill, it isn't like FIFA Career Mode where you can spend as much as you want and pay wages as high as you want completely ignoring STCC and FFP regulations. Why is everyone getting so pissy that we have sold Stones anyway? The lad was a liability defensively. Mistake after mistake, constantly getting outjumped, outmuscled, what have you. He was NEVER one of our best players. But of course since he can do a few fancy skills and Cruyff turns, which I can do as well, the English media calls him the next Bobby Moore. To hell with defending, if he can do a couple of tricks he's going to be the best defender the world has ever seen.

That's just what we have done this summer. As we speak plans are being drawn up for a brand new state-of-the-art stadium for us to play in - not just paper talk either, Joe Anderson himself has said it. Not just any stadium either, a modern stadium on the famous Liverpool waterfront, on the banks of the royal blue Mersey. This project alone would cost several hundreds of millions of pounds and will take realistically 3-4 years to complete. These sorts of things are not going to be done and dusted in a week.

Compare that to the Kenwright era where 3, THREE, stadiums were proposed, all of which failed to come to fruition due to lack of investment or reluctance to invest. The difference with this proposal is that there are actually signs of progress - there is a willingness to spend money, willingness to co-operate with the city council and co, and plans actually on the table. We finally have the investment we've needed for decades right now, and it's starting to show. Yet not a single word has been spoken.

A vast majority of our fans really make my blood boil, they really do.

Stand up and clap

What apart from being closer to a new stadium since the Kings dock, goodison upgrades, brining in a whole new management structure, and debt clearance?, it's not all about transfers
