What do they even need netting for anyway? Apart from stopping the ball slamming someone in the mush after a goal, what are they for? With goal line technology, they don't even need it to signify a goal has been scored.

Blasphemer !!!!!

"During their time at Anfield, Everton became the first club to introduce goalnets to professional football.."

Should have Perspex like my indoor place does. Scored a peach that hit the top corner of the goal but bounced out so hard and fast it got missed by the ref.

Not too bothered about net colours while the balls look like a clown turd. White ball in blue nets looks ace.

They should make transparent netting so the poor lids sat right behind the goal can get a half-decent view of the game.

A mate once suggested they have green nets, to match the colour of the grass. He had the notion this would render the nets somehow invisible. Idiot.
For the record, I favour stripey nets.
