They should make transparent netting so the poor lids sat right behind the goal can get a half-decent view of the game.
What do they even need netting for anyway? Apart from stopping the ball slamming someone in the mush after a goal, what are they for? With goal line technology, they don't even need it to signify a goal has been scored.
Oh I know, whilst it serves no practical purpose anymore, the idea of the ball just sadly bobbling around on the blue gravel doesn't exactly match the ripple of the net as the ball nestles into it.Hahaha imagine a world where we didn't have netting in goals. Just imagine how crap every single goal would look.
I wish they had baggy netting like back in the 80's/90's where the ball used to nestle and stay in the net. Made the goals look better!
