Blocked Drains

I have a coffee grinder, so I get some beans, grind them and shove them down the drain? I think I'll get a second opinion instead of trying it and looking like a right tit.

no !!
It sounds like yours has got blocked outside by leaves and stuff, what i'm saying is that when you have sorted this problem out a good way to keep your sink pipe clean is to put your used coffee grinds down the sink and flush them through, they are abrasive and will remove scuz from your sink that sticks in the pipes and smells, your washer is probably plumbed into the same pipe and the washing powder can gunge up in the pipe as well.

for your problem you need to dig as much out and then blast it with a jetwash or even a hose to clear the pipe, then if the drain is uncovered you need to get a cover so that it doesn't happen again.
