Blocked Drains

Not a social visit, just want some information really.

The drain that is fed from my kitchen sink and dishwasher is blocked. It's an old system over here in Port Sunlight so I don't know that much about it. I got my hands involved over the weekend with some gloves on and removed a load of mulch or something, leaves all mangled together with god knows what else. It's still blocked and doesn't smell too fresh. Not really keen on calling out Dynorod to fleece me of my hard earned cash - so what can I do?

Is there some kind of magic fluid that would do the trick?

Various fluids usually called draino and such , if its outside though try shoving a jetwash down and blasting it through , remove as much as you can 1 st . Coffee grinds are great for washing through to keep them clear, sounds more lime you need a grate over it though if its leaves & stuff

Coffee Grinds?

Yeah, from your coffee perc. Etc. Put them down the sink and they rid the pipes of scuz as they are abrasive and rinse it all off. I read it in a mag ad as a top tip and it works, also good on aciduous plants every now & then apparently, organic too.
