meh, NEA, its just numbers for those who can't manage to see the name on the back...the old days, Gone, much mourned, but never the less gone for ever.

#sighs

I would still like to see numbers 1 to 11 being the first choice 11.
It just kind of slipped away over the seasons and everybody seemingly thinking squad numbers are great.
They are. But your first 11 could still wear the primary shirts. They mean 'something'.

I never thought about it in such a way before, but thanks for opening up my eyes to something so beautiful.

Or is it just names for those who can't count? It wasn't a cry for a return to the old days, just an observation on something that is increasingly rare, that we were playing with a centre forward, and inside forward and a winger.

years ago the numbers meant something No.2 was right back etc, it ain't so now...coincidence, pure and simple...you'll be telling me next Kone is a centre forward in the best Everton tradition...yeah right.

OK so you think he is in the tradition of Everton No.9's... but only if that is the tradition of Belfitt, Angell etc...not the real ones.

That said when he came on he did well enough, you can't argue with his assist and goal, but long term? really??...nah

Unless he goes on a goal scoring rampage, then I always knew he was a goodun.

..I was just saying yep that we had a 9, 10 and 11 playing, Matey.

Aslong as they do the job and fight blood, sweat and tears for the badge on their chest im not even bothered what number they wear

I liked the good old fashioned Goodison "roar" from the Gwladys Street after the equaliser yesterday, reminded me of better days:)
It was the shock , and excitement of The Kone scoring the only goal that was not deflected!
I had a dream Kone would score a hat trick I have slated him like everyone on here maybe a guilt dream apart from a missed header he changed the game for us along with RB who was on his own in midfield!
