yes it is when the perfomances where woeful

Results come before performances at this stage of the season. It is the sign of a good team that are not playing well but grind out results. I think it is a major miracle how well we have done with all the injury set backs we have had, not to mention the awful start to the season we had. COYB!

Given the circumstances, 6th would be great.

I'll be honest, given our last three performances though, despite keeping 3 clean sheets I am a bit worried.

yes we dont want him anywhere near the team, nor do we want f.ucking wingers either aka as van der meyde who can get the ball into him..you cant blame him and make him the scapegoat, everyone on the pitch was dire like the last 3 matches

I do not want to blame this guys, but he is showing no sign of all he is trying, he has enough starting game for us to start showing us what he is all about?

I am not saying he must start scoring us alot of game as it take timeto really settle down, but he has done none of his striker task at all, he is not scoring, he is not holding up the play, he ain't laying the ball to his team-mate, certainly not make much of a assist of scoring chance and most certain not try to close down there defender when he's off the ball.

So, please Moyes next time when you want to play "JO" upfront you going to need a partner upfront with him.

80% - Hoofball which made Blackburn look good and played into their game.

20% - Passing, movement, created 3 chances, 2 near goals (Pienaar's should've been buried).

If we realised that from the off, we could've got something out of it. Be the game was as expected.

Blackburn, for all there passing and hoofing, didnt trouble Howard who only had 1 save to make.

Yobo coming in at centre back worries me. It just doesnt feel right without Jags in the middle with Lescott. No slight on him as a defender but Jags and Lescott make a great pair. Who you see Fergie putting someone like Vidic at Right Back? No because why would you want to split one of the best defensive pairing in the league?

I think we should've tried Ossie or Pienaar in the middle with Neville. I know Rodwell is a great pospect but that's two DM's in there. Last time it was Carsley and Neville with hit and miss performances.

Anyway -

Howard - Made one good save. Good catches.
Jags - Usual self but distribution is poor for a RB and didnt get forward enough
Lescott - Let Roberts past a few times. Solid. Good volley.
Yobo - Hoof.
Baines - Played fair, got forward well. Didnt link up with Pienaar too well tonight.
Pienaar - Hit and miss. Lost the ball, bad first touch. Then started knocking it around and should've scored.
Osman - Same as above. But only really got into the game when he got nutted.
Neville - Was fine.
Rodwell - Was hurried off the ball a fair bit but still calm and composed. Didnt offer nothing going forward.
Cahill - Came into it more when he moved to CM
Jo - Never got a killer pass to his feet. Used as a target man which he isnt.
Saha - Lively when came on. For some reason made us pass more.
Fellaini - Same as above in spells. Still not match fit.

The win would've made the table interesting with Villa losing tonight. But what can ya do.

You'd be right too. Its so apparent as the contrast is so huge to the preceeding games with Arteta.

Were lucky to have a consistent water-tight defence, maybe now Moyes has had a couple of games to look at the system he will make some changes.

Fellaini back in then.

awesome! a moyes out post. retro!

we could do a clip show. does anyone remember space hoppers? and mojo sweets? does anyone remember when moyes was ace. then ****. then ace. then **** again?

Could we compare the two teams: the one that started against Boro in the Quarter Final of the Cup in Smith's last game to the one that could start on Sunday.

Thats progress.

we were never gonna get anything playing hoofball with that ref so why did moyes suddenly realise this after 82 bleedin minutes. what the **** has happened to fellaini? don't blame jo, what's he supposed to do with 90,000 balls played 12 foot above his head. there was one point in the match 2nd half and neville had the ball just before half way with no one around for about 20 yards and he played a long ball for saha to chase, carry the ball forward and the let the attack unfold naturally. yobo is not filling me with confidence anymore, how many times were balls played through the middle cos he's strayed to the right. pienaar and baines didn't see enough of the ball to make an impact (and yes it was a pen for stevie p). without mikky the midfield is being bypassed, just like when he was stuck on the wing. 4 points dropped against newc utd and blackburn away, champs league? not after tonight and villa haven't won in in 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cahill man of the match.
