Steering wheel for sim rig

Bad nerd stuff
Do you have the pedals and seat etc?
I’ve sold a few of the pedals and steering consoles fur about a grand each

Mad prices

Yeh. I've got a full-blown rig with active pedals, stick shift, handbrake etc. Spent far too much money on it over the years but my justification is that it's peanuts compared to real-life racing which is ultimately what it's a replacement for.

A single track day at Silverstone driving your own car is 450 quid, no racing, just you driving your own car around a track for a couple of hours... lots of fun but not financially viable as a regular thing, especially with tyre costs added on top etc

Oh my wife one day just gifted me a ticket to a single day at Silverstone and I really enjoyed it! We were riding different cars and I was alone! I thought it cost her a lot of money.....

So what, you use sim type games? Not GTA or Forza etc?!

Sounds like you nailed it on the wifey front !

Mad, I’d love a go, I always think I’d be an ace rally driver. Apparently my driving is ‘consistently erratic’ whatever that means

Lol. It's a great hobby and can be ridiculously immersive with a good setup

Having run my NAS for a week now, i decided to send back the 4Tb ssd as well!

For starters it isn't designed for NAS, so will have a short lifespan. Secondly, for the same money I can get 8Tb as a spinning disk, and pair it with the other in a RAID 1 array for better data security. This is what I initially wanted, and Chatgpt had wrongly said I could use the 2 disks together, so I went ahead with SSD. I don't really notice the speed advantage in this application.

I still have the original NAS box, but now everything I bought that morning has since been returned without quibble. Its been a learning curve!

This is computer tech talk.
Running the SSD permanent would burn it out way before the solid state drive. So the expensive burn out drive was a daft option.
Two things.
Firstly what detail are you storing your music to? Because 8TB is a lot of albums. A lot!
Lastly since when are you told what to do by some global ai system? With all the posturing against modern life and state encroachment you've extolled.

I've recorded my music(vinyl) to the highest bitrate possible on my converter cant remember the figures exactly as its months since I did some 192kHz 24 bit stuff I think. But I have a separate unit for all that, an Innuos Zen mk3 which has 1Tb on it. It's just over half full, with that and my cd collection.

Nah this 8Tb is for personal files, me and the missus, plus the DVDs I ripped so that I no longer have to sit through menus or endless anti-piracy warnings (that use a music they never paid royalties for!). It's future proofing for the day I get around to ripping the other 500 DVDs I have.

I realised one day that I have a better collection of films over the years, than Netflix, Disney or Amazon offer so am binning them and their subscriptions off - but I like the ease of having them all stream from my now local source.

Keep the physical copies, they are rare and getting scarcer. Everything.
