I found a 65 inch Panasonic tv the other day, main tv been goosed for a while. Gone to it this morning (Amazon prime) and there are now about 20 alternatives and so cheap in comparison, Hisense for example. Bit out of date with these things but they all seem good and sub £400?

Not sure about prices at that size. ~50" Hisense screens have been £500 or less for years now, but it's 6/7 sinse I bought one myself.

Only thing it's good for is getting the best of the past years' tech but, if it was widely regarded as the best, it's usually not featured or almost sold out so there are like 2 left in stock; so you're either stuck with even deeper discounts on the that had already been discounted, because it's , or having to lower yourself to the "dork standing in line for a new iPhone" level to possibly grab one of the few left.

They like to say consumerism but it's just a manufacturer garage sale to help make way for next years' .

The 65" one (Hisense) I use as my PC monitor has been solid for 2+ years now. Yes, I would have preferred a LG B4 OLED at the time but I saved about 1.5k by not going that route. Along with phones, TV's are the poster children for "obsolete in 3-4 years" tech, so it pays to look around at reviews and, most importantly, know what your primary use for it will be and where you're open to compromise.
