Forgot how look he looked! Someone else mentioned yesterday on these forums owed rather a lot to his screamy, loud/quiet/loud style.
Excellent stuff, I've got a load of their gigs, usually get pulled out after a few too many rums.

Ace lyrics too - 'He took his sister from his head and he painted her on the sheets'

One of my favourite guitarists ever too in Santiago, with his choppy, angular weirdness. Clearly the Pixies were just ace.

Seriously, I never go long without going back and listening to something by them. It can be argued that while they were really pretty obscure when they were around (big on the alternative scene and they even opened for U2) they may be the most influential band of the last 25 years based on bands like Nirvana and countless others who basically copied the quiet/loud/quiet screaming vocals mixed with top class harmonies.

The whole band was great and the mix was so weird and addictive. I remember first listening to them and thinking "I have no idea what this is, but I love it".

I might try a top 5 in the other thread, but really I don't know if I can. It would change every day.

Greatest band ever. FACT. Isla da Encanta is my ringtone.

Happy birthday Big Man

So here's "Levitate Me" broken out. "Come on Pilgrim, you know he loves you!"
