Diniyar Bilyaletdinov Lifts Lid On Everton Switch - Goal.com

The Russian import confirms his best position...

Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, who cites former Evertonian Andrei Kanchelskis as a personal hero, has already sported the colours of the Toffees - albeit in a cameo appearance - and the Russian recruit, imported from Lokomotiv Moscow, has spoken about his preferred position.

Furthermore, the fully-capped international, who has been granted the no.7 shirt, spoke of how he will settle into Goodison Park life in a swift manner due to his familiarity with a clutch of first-team Merseyside men.

"We have two games with the national team, in Moscow then in Cardiff, so that's only four hours away," Bilyaletdinov explained to EvertonTV.

"It's a very big training ground and it's very good. The swimming pool, the gym, they are very good and they can help to get good results."

Regarding the players he is already on good terms with, Diniyar said, "I know Jo from playing for CSKA and I also know (Steven) Pienaar, (Mikel) Arteta, (Tim) Howard, Phil Neville and (Marouane) Fellaini - he's a big guy!"

As to his preferred position, Bilyaletdinov added, "My position is left-sided but not as a winger, I come inside then go outside.

"Last year I played on the right - I prefer the left but it's not a problem, from the right I can cut in and shoot more than from the left."

I know it's goal.com but this seems to be promising

Says he likes to come inside, like Pienaar does, which should create space for the full back

Sounds, actually, just what we needed to suit our system.

Against Arsenal too wasn't it?

That was one my favorite games in the prem 2 years ago. Sheff Utd won 1-0, Jags had to play goal in the 70th min after Paddy went down, made a couple quality saves and punched out a corner or two as well.

Its funny for as good as Jags was last season he was better that year on Sheff Utd. He'd have to switch position to CM if Utd was down a goal late, scored a few and a couple game winners as well.

Its a direct quote I am sure, he has said he is not a winger, but he can play on the left or right and he likes to cut inside take on people and then maybe have a shot or cross.......****** HELL where have you been all my life son beam !!!! bring it on....(y)(y)(y)(y)

tricky trevor anyone, if he walks the walk as good as he talks the talk I will, once again be spellbound by a number 7 taking the P out of everyone down the wing at the old lady and various other grounds around the country and europe.COYB(y)

saw Billy play for Russia against Liechtenstein today and the other players on the russia team seemed to just ignore the fact he was on the pitch for most of the game even when he was in acres of space, however, when he was on the ball he looked skillful and composed with a good left foot
