Big Duncan on the sidelines....

Player Valuation: £35m
Forgive me folks, or feel free to sneer at me. I've been on an all-nighter, and I'll probably cringe when I read this back later.

I'm not one to normally start a thread; however, if I was the gaffer, I'd be looking to get Duncan on the sideline to give players instructions.

I think it would give a massive lift to the faithful. His mere presence seems to lift the crowd.

They teach that in the FIFA courses you know. It was a mandate from Blatter, but I don't think he really thought it through.

I'm too bladdered to even know if you're taking the biscuit.

Anyway, it's not like I'm suggesting we should employ Peter Reid, or somebody, just to get the crowd going, but seeing as we already have a club icon, who works daily with the players, wouldn't it make good sense to use his presence? I'm sure the players would listen to him. I'm not sure they'd listen to Coco the clown :P

I would prefer him to come on off the bench instead of Kone! Sign a striker or give Big Dunc a shirt number Bobby!

"Big Dunc" cant string a few words together. It'd take him about 10 minutes to get an idea through.

Laughable that this clown is thought of as manager material in the future. Needs to get out in the world and get a job at another club and prove himself like the vast majority do.

Nice insult of an Everton icon Dave.

Not sure I've said he's future manager material, but carry on throwing your hatred around regardless.

At least you didn't use the word legend.

How is it hatred to say that someone who some feel would be a good manager actually gets managerial experience and not hang around a place looking to get in by making cringing statements of support to the chairman?

Errr, because I've yet to see anybody in this thread claim he would be a good manager.

I wouldn't have him as our manager.

No, not on this thread by you, but elsewhere.

Anyway, back on topic: Martinez passes on his own instructions. I doubt very much he'd trust anyone outside of himself or Jones to make them intelligible to players.

Sometimes it's arbitrary though mate. If we're losing 1-0 at home with 2 minutes to go, would it really matter who stood on the touchline and waved his arms around?

That's the point I was making. There's not much of a difference you can make at that point in a game. The presence of Dunc WOULD raise the crowd though.

Dunc already has a presence on the touchline, you see him at times giving out instructions, or geeing them on
