You can forgive him for being technically quite weak, but for such a big man he gets bullied so much and hardly ever wins anything in the air. I'm not really sure what he's any good at.

The worst thing for me is when he's going up for a header it's more as if he is defending the ball, getting goal side, rather than trying to win it or flick it on.

You're not going to win a header against a big, PL centre back if you are skulking behind them!

I'm not sure I'm seeing the effort really. Marcus Bent was pretty limited, but he played a crucial role in us getting 4th spot because of the effort he put in. Beto is hopeless at finishing and doesn't really seem to do much to help the team in other ways either.

He's 6'4", or the same height as Van der Ven, who caused us all sorts of problems at set pieces. Even aside from the direct balls up to him, I can't remember him doing anything from set pieces into the box either. He's listed as 88kg. The man's a unit. As a point of contrast, he's around 4kg heavier than Drogba was, and he'd bully defenders for fun.

I sort of agree with this. I think he tries, he’s not deliberately lazy, but I find it hard to commend his effort when he’s so often just far too easy play against. He has the natural attributes to much more of a handful than he is most of the time.

Someone lost their head with me in here in the summer because I disagreed that he was ‘guaranteed’ to score double figures. Needs 9 in 29 to scrape it, having scored 3 in his last 21.

I cba digging him out or even calling him crap constantly. We all knew his limitations.

His period of goalscoring was vital last year and I was very grateful to have a scoring striker again. Now he's not scoring or offering anything and it's massively disappointing. Repeating abuse about him constantly isn't going to make me feel better but fair play to those of you enjoying it.

He’s woeful. Said it plenty of times but he’s just nowhere near the pace of the premier league in his head. He’s miles off the speed of the game.

It’s not like he’s even making it hard for defenders from clearances/long balls because he just doesn’t anticipate quickly enough most of the time.
