2025/26 Beto

I thought the header was alright tbh, other than Keane or Tarks, I don’t think any of our players score from that cross. (Excellent as it was) Was unlucky it didn’t go in.
If it lands 6 inches further from the line it bounces over the keepers legs and it is an excellent textbook header. I thought he was unlucky with that one. In addition, if he heads it over or wide we are getting nothing. He worked the keeper, defence panic, we get a goal. I am not a great fan of his but I think people are being unfair over the header.

By the same token, we're a lot more relaxed about it because we ended up scoring from it anyway. It wasn't a shocking effort or anything, but it was basically our biggest chance of the game and he missed it, if it had been cleared properly I reckon there'd be a lot more people in here saying 'you can't pass up chances like that at this level'.

Beto like Alcaraz seemed to be subbed on at HT with a bit of attitude, I don't know why this isn't the case when starting.

Do our players need to feel slighted to gee them up to get on the pitch and do a bit? This isn't a new phenomenon.

Free header, running onto it as well from 6yds. Got to be scoring it 100%. That was genuinely the only place the keeper would be because its instinct for the keeper to shuffle across that way.

It was a dreadful miss and he was very VERY fortunate it bounced around for a couple of seconds and Grealish managed to tuck it away. Because if we hadn't scored, all the talk would have been about how bad Barry was, and what a sitter Beto missed and cost us 3 points.

It was a powerful Beto header which somehow the keeper managed to block with his legs, but you give Grealish the credit when the defender's desperate clearance struck Grealish and went in. Not sure Grealish knew a lot about it. Mind, I was a long way from it.

Grealish knew nothing about it but you've got to be Johnny on the spot to get scrappy goals like thay.

The keeper somehow saved the header? It was straight at him! You couldn't head it more straighter at the keeper if he'd tried that 50 times.

Then why did an otherwise excellent Henderson fail to catch a header straight at him? Answer, the power of the downward header coming up off the turf was too difficult to handle and it just struck him. I guess you seem determined to deny Beto any credit. I don't rate Beto much either but the goal was mainly down to him.

Maybe instead of forcing the keeper into an instinctive save he could’ve just… scored?

Well unless Henderson has hands for feet mate, I dont think he'd be catching the ball would he?
